A rundown of yesterday’s elopement in Kananaskis. We had glorious sunshine, a flash hailstorm but this didn’t stop the couple from smiling ear to ear throughout the day!

A dream wedding doesn’t just come together overnight. R + R had an amazing vision, tons of drive and determination and they assembled a specific team of vendors to bring their wedding day to life!

They hit the jackpot, fresh snowfall the night before, it was a little cold but not the coldest by a long way, and their family and friends were treated to possibly the best views in town.

The moral of the story is, Go for it. If you fall in love with a specific idea or imagine getting married in a certain way, make it happen. It’s your day, and it can most certainly be done, your way.

PSA: You don’t need to travel with your wedding signage and stationery.

You already have so many items on your checklist that you plan to bring along with you to your wedding, let your planner help!

B + J had a beautiful wedding at Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, and they wrote every single guest and vendor a heartfelt postcard from special places they’d been, they brought the little postcards with them from home. For all other signage, I worked with them designing their seating chart, place cards, table signs and menus on Canva, and we had it all printed locally in Banff at Defending Awesome which I then picked up on their behalf and brought it all with me to set up on the day.

If you have any signage that you need to have at your wedding, my advice is don’t squeeze it into your already full car, let us sort it for you.

I often tell my friends back in the UK, that being in the mountains is kind of like living and working in two different countries, you get the beautiful winter weddings after fresh snowfall ❄️ then you get lush green, rocky, mountain wedding views in the summer ⛰️ both beautiful in their own way.

M + M celebrated their special day at Emerald Lake Lodge this past weekend, we had a fresh dump of snow the days leading up to it which meant for spectacular, serene surroundings, this was everything they had dreamed of, coming from the warm climate of South California 😎

Eloping doesn’t mean you lose all of the traditions that you’ve seen at other weddings, each wedding or elopement is unique and you can include as many or as few traditions as you wish. E + R had always dreamed of hiking up a mountain at sunrise to get married. Later in the day however, they still got to include a “reception” with family who couldn’t hike with them, a grand entrance, a first dance, and a cake cutting!

This time of year is always interesting. It’s a great time to crack on with catch up calls with this year’s couples, making the most of your availability for calls and deep conversations, pulling together timelines and logistics before the busy summer season. Some days I enjoy the slower pace of late winter/early spring, but most days I’m just longing for the busy season, CAN IT BE SUMMER ALREADY PLEASE?!?
