Sunday’s order was for a beautiful baptism in Toronto, for little princess Lorena. 🌸🌷🌸

Congratulations to her wonderful parents, grandparents and loved ones. May God’s love, grace and blessings be with her always! 🙏🏼✝️🌺

The order features our signature atayefs, as well as mini mille-feuilles, filled with our specialty atayef cream!

Thank you Angela for including these sweets as part of your special occasion! 🥰

And, that’s a wrap on Easter weekend! 🙏🏼🌿✝️🐣🌷🐥💜🐰

What a busy week it was during Holy Week; between attending multiple church services, juggling taking orders and actually making them on Saturday and Sunday PLUS, multiple daily home showings in my real estate world, attending an Easter dinner dance (& not mention the regular house chores), I managed to pull it off!

Thank you to each and every person who supported my little side hustle and included these atayefs on their Easter tables! ❤️

Hope your Easter was blessed with abundance of joy and love as well as a time to reflect Jesus’ life and the glory of his resurrection ❤️🙏🏼

Yesterday, I had an order to prepare for a post-celebration event for “Homenetmen Cambridge” (for those unfamiliar, it’s a pan-Armenian diaspora organization devoted to sport and scouting which has established numerous chapters around the globe including Middle East, Europe, United States, Canada, South America and Australia). Google “Homenetmen” for more details on this wonderful organization.

Last weekend, our local Cambridge Armenian Community Centre’s “Homenetmen” organization held the 51st annual Regional Games and we couldn’t be more proud of this successful event which took so much dedication and commitment from each member as well as all the participants that attended from near and far.

For a clip of the event, please use this link (copy and paste onto your browser):

As for the sweets, how’s my creativity with the red, blue, orange Christmas light bulbs (🇦🇲❤️💙🧡) and the logo of “Homenetmen” that I searched for on Google images and printed out and attached it onto toothpicks! And finishing off with the holiday touches like the poinsettias and hollys 🎄

Each and every review/testimonial that comes my way means sooo much to me, especially those coming from the little ones!

I just had to share these clips (with permission from their mom, of course) because it’s just TOO cute not to share!
Can I just hire these kids for my marketing team? PLEASE??? ❤️👌🏼👏🏼🫶🏻

I’m so glad to bring happiness to everyone who enjoys these atayefs whether it’s for all the special occasions or “just because I’m having a craving” moment. And, although sometimes, they are made for sad occasions too (such as funeral receptions or memorial services etc) it still provides that much more affirmation or testament that my clients and supporters have relied on these delicious sweets for many years, for all their meaningful moments in life.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
🙏🏼♥️🙏🏼

WOW, what an overwhelming amount of feedback I received last week when I shared the post (insta story) of this dessert! Loved receiving all the compliments that came in and those asking if I’m taking any orders.

So....I’ve decided, due to the popular demand, I would like to offer a one-time opportunity for orders! Therefore, this upcoming long weekend, I will be making this dessert all weekend long if anyone is interested in ordering for any day of the weekend (Friday, Saturday & Sunday). But, orders MUST be placed by this Wednesday (June 26th) so I can pick up all my ingredients in time.

I created this idea of the mini “Mille Feuille”(flaky pastry sheets) filled with the same filling as I use in my signature atayefs. A classic French dessert with my Middle Eastern twist!

I had made a platter last week for my own personal use, to take along to a ladies gathering. I didn’t realize it would create such a hype on my social media pages so, here’s your chance.
It might be the only time to order some! 😉❤️

Happy New Year my lovely friends and clients! ❤️🍾🥂

Finally getting this chance to put up a post as I sit here at the airport, waiting to board since noon (due to our severe winter weather, we have been delayed 4 TIMES so far, but at least this downtime gave me a chance to finally catch my breath lol).

I am taking a MUCH needed break and will not be able to make any sweets for the remainder of January. I feel a little drained mentally and physically with all the running around especially from November to January; such as:

- being in contact with numerous clients to take multiple orders & making all the sweets too
- my regular real estate hustle
- hosting Christmas at our home
- throwing a New Year’s banquet by myself for almost 200 guests
- other holiday social functions like work parties etc
- of course, the usual preparations for the holidays
- with unfortunate news & having to bid farewell at 3 funerals; all in the month of December!
- and of course, being emotionally affected, witnessing in front of our eyes, some unfortunate world events this past year such as the displacement of the 120,000 Armenians in Artsakh (the violence and tragedies too of course), and watching daily coverage of the killing of thousands of Palestinian children.

With the above list, I didn’t have time to allow myself to plan and go on a family trip back in Oct or Nov…so, the week of Christmas, we decided to do a quick booking for a getaway until I actually have time to sit & plan the trip we originally wanted to take. Sometimes, I tend to forget about self-care when I’m too busy taking care of the people and my surroundings lol.

…so, a little vitamin “sea” will surely help me re-energize and get me ready to tackle 2024 with a “full tank of fuel”!
I will try to check my messages/emails while I’m gone, but it depends on internet availability and my mood to disrupt my R&R lol! But, I will get back to every msg eventually!

I would also like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone for their support; not only for this past year but, beyond that too. I’m blessed and grateful to have such a beautiful circle of friends, family and clients. And, year by year I’m humbled to see my clientele continue to grow.

May the New Year fill your homes and hearts with abundance of blessings!

See you all very soon, in the meantime, I’m outta here to “sea” my happy place! 🙏🏼🌴❤️

As operating expenses for the business continue to increase, it puts a force on some very difficult decisions to be made, but at the end of the day one must do what's feasible for the business. At Lina’s Kitchen, we’ve been determined to maintain the same pricing on our atayefs since day 1 of the start of this small business (back in 2015).

Despite the effects of increased prices over the yrs, including the latest inflation that we find ourselves in, it became harder & harder to keep our prices unchanged. Unfortunately, it has come time to make some adjustments due to the increased expenses in ALL aspects of our business… incl:

✅ Supplies: (all baking ingredients, packaging & decorative pcs)
✅ Utilities (which are sometimes forgotten about): gas, water & hydro (washing the endless dishes, running the stove/oven, keeping the kitchen lights on
✅ Transportation costs: I often go to Toronto to pick up specialty items from various suppliers. Gas & car maintenance costs have gone up…

I didn’t mention the cost of “labour”, because I’d like that to be the only aspect that doesn’t increase. And, that’s only because I have total control over that. However, with everything else mentioned, we have no alternative but to adjust our current prices by 16% which is still only a fraction of the overall increases that we’ve encountered (compared to 25 to 50% increase in the other items mentioned above). Effective immediately, Atayefs will be $1.75 ea. If you’ve placed an order for a future date, the old rate will still be honoured. However, going forward the new price will apply to any new orders.

Although our prices will be changing, something that will never change is the quality & the freshness of our sweets (atayefs). I will continue to be generous & pack on those crushed pistachios, because that’s not something to cheap out on lol! And, I will continue to make every single batch fresh, on the day of your orders.

Sorry friends, I tried not to change the prices for as long as possible but, I’m left with no choice. I even used to be generous enough to include mini decorations on each platter; matching the clients’ event or theme at no extra charge (just to surprise the clients with something extra). Well, those extras are now costing even more & therefore, I can only include them by client request (but you will only be asked for the actual cost, no mark-ups). Pls don’t be upset with me, we should be upset with those that are responsible for raising prices everywhere!

We would like to thank all of our customers for your loyalty & continued support over the past 8 yrs. I truly apologize for this announcement, I’ve been dreading it. We look forward to continuing to serve your functions.❤️

The past 3 days and LONG hours in the kitchen have caught up with me today, as I'm feeling a little "off" so, I've been super slow in creating this post.

This Thanksgiving weekend was full of atayef orders which went out to many cities around the province including: Hamilton, St. Catharines, even Ottawa! And, of course, ones for our locals here including Cambridge, Kitchener and Waterloo!

Thankful for all the support with your orders and blessed to have you all in my world!

On top of the atayef orders, I decided to make different desserts for my own Thanksgiving gathering with family (I figured my extended family is probably sick of having my atayefs lol). So, I made a tray of crumb;e squares with Apricot jam, cinnamon and walnuts and another crumble tray with nutella and almond filling.

Also, I decided to make chocolate eclairs for my very first time (probably my last time making them too lol). I realized there's too many steps involved and it's a very finicky recipe. It looks better than it tasted and I'm humble enough to admit it. Perhaps I'll give it another try to prove myself that I can pull it off on my second attempt.

For pictures of the desserts other than the atayefs, please check out my personal page as those items are not available for sale hence why I didn’t include them on this business page.

With all the darkness happening around the world, spreading love and joy with our baking (or anything you enjoy doing) is sometimes uplifting and distracting to stay hopeful and positive.

May this Thanksgiving bring joy and an abundance of blessings for everyone.

Wow, what a whirlwind of a weekend it was!!!
Lina's kitchen was super busy all weekend long, putting in long hours to be able to fulfill multiple orders for both Saturday and Sunday.

We managed to make it all happen seamlessly, with close to 600 pcs of atayefs that made their way to 2 separate weddings on Sat and 2 birthday orders on Sunday! For once, our oversized kitchen island seemed too small, and that's how many sweets were spread out at one point lol! 😂🙈
With a total of 21 hrs of labour-of-love throughout the 3 days to prepare everything; from the preparation stage to packaging up the orders, including the 4 pairs of hands helping out on Saturday alone, we pulled that busiest day (Sat) just in time to get ready to go to the one wedding ourselves! Thank you to my family for jumping in to help out on Saturday! 🙏🏼❤️

We congratulate the beautiful newlyweds, Harout Harout Karageozian & Caren on their amazing wedding. And, congratulations also to their wonderful families too! 💞 What a fun night it was celebrating and dancing with you all night long (yes, I still danced all night after getting all the sweets done earlier in the day lol).💃🕺🏻🍾🥂👰🏻🤵🏻‍♂️❤️

Thank you for including these atayefs on your special day to give it that extra "sweet" touch! 🙏🏼💞

The other orders from the weekend as well as the pictures will be shared very soon in separate posts.

Over the course of this past weekend, there were two separate Bridal Shower orders! (Details of Saturday's bridal shower order is in the previous post).

Sunday's Bridal Shower was in honour of Catarina, the beautiful bride-to-be. Check out those chocolate covered strawberries! So pretty if I do say so myself.... 😉🤩🍫🍓😋

Congratulations Catarina, wishing you a lifetime of happiness and love in your upcoming new chapter!
