We’ve all heard it: “Find a job you love and it won’t feel like work.”
Somehow, Apple & Pine Market became that for us.
We started this market because we wanted to give something meaningful back to our community. Growing up in small rural areas, we learned early how important connection is — knowing your neighbours, knowing the stories behind what you bring into your home, and supporting the people who put their heart into what they make. That feels more important now than ever.
This weekend reminded us exactly why.
We didn’t just chat with shoppers and makers — we had real conversations. We saw familiar faces, met new ones who felt familiar within minutes, and honestly laughed harder than we have in a long time… a Christmas Market for the books! Lol. Nothing felt dull or surface-level. The moments were real, the stories honest, and the energy felt exactly like community should feel.
For some, this is a side gig. For others, it keeps life moving. But everything at the market carries someone’s time, energy, and heart. Every maker brings something unique — a product, a story, a piece of themselves. Watching those creations go home with people who really appreciate them… that’s what makes it all matter. It’s what gives all the hard work meaning.
