Dino Day! 🐊
We made dino footprint cookies and had a Dino scavenger hunt that ended in a 'real' dino excavation! We also watched some and YouTubed some clips of dino digs ( geared for kids) to get her in the mood.
It's always a great day when you start off baking cookies right ?! We made a very easy shortbread cookie recipe and then stomped our dinosaurs feet, tails, and faces into them, what a great way to play with your food! fill the foot print with chocolate chips or jam, or just leave plain! I'll post the full recipe at the bottom of this post!
Scavenger hunts ARE LILY'S JAM, I mean this kid gets so excited for scavenger hunts. I was trying to avoid sweets with this since we already made cookies. So to start Lily was handed a duffle bag and a dragon , I mean dinosaur costume 😁(we had on hand) and we read out the clues, with each clue there was a tool, anything you can think of to break or sweep clean, we gathered her hammer, screwdriver, magnifying glass, some nail brushes and paint brushes, even one of the brushes you dye your hair with😂. when she got to the end and found the dino excavations she was sooo excited and couldn't wait to find out what was inside them! The homemade dino digs were super simple to make and can easily be filled with any dino or whatever your kid is into!
