Leashing dogs isn’t just a rule—it’s a simple way to make every trail experience feel safe and predictable for everyone who shares it. It helps prevent stressful encounters, protects curious dogs from harm, and keeps wildlife from being startled or displaced.

A short leash goes a long way in keeping trails welcoming for all. 🐕🌿

It's Volunteer Appreciation Week!

Behind every bucket of sap collected, every student's "aha" moment, and every smile from a first-time visitor, there's a volunteer making it happen.

During our maple syrup program, our incredible volunteers bring learning to life for hundreds of students through hands-on field trips, while helping produce over 700L of syrup each right here in the sugar shack. That's no small feat!

And when Spring Tonic weekend rolls around, thousands of visitors are welcomed by a dedicated team, guiding parking, running activity stations, sharing their knowledge, and making sure every detail runs smoothly.

From the first tap in the tree to the last drop in the jar, your time, energy, and heart are woven into every part of what makes the Tiffin Centre for Conservation so special.

Thank you, volunteers. We couldn't do any of this without you!

This Earth Day, take a moment to step outside and enjoy the beautiful day and the natural beauty around you!

At Tiffin Centre for Conservation, there are many ways to connect with the environment. Walk the forest trails, explore the wetlands, observe local wildlife, or take part in education programs and seasonal events. It is also a place where people gather for community events and celebrate meaningful moments surrounded by nature.

We see every day how important it is to protect and restore the environment. Through conservation, education, and community support, we can ensure these landscapes continue to thrive.

Spring Tonic 2026 was absolutely SWEET!

What an incredible weekend! The smiles were contagious and the community showed up in the best possible way to close out our maple syrup season in style.

Kids hammered in their first tree taps, the sugar shack was steaming away with fresh syrup being bottled, and families got creative with arts & crafts. The Essa Fire Dept. stopped by, pancakes were sizzling on the griddle, and the maple taffy on snow was as good as ever!

Wagon rides through the maple bush, the talented Bob Cole from Modern Music Studios performing live, an interactive animal exhibit (yes, including a tarantula and an albino python!), birdhouse building, dog tricks, and much more!

A huge thank you to the dedicated volunteers, sponsors, community partners, and Rotary Club of Barrie who made this year so special. We'll see you next spring!
