My Birthmark, My Strength 🌟
By Shanstan
They looked at my ear,
Before they looked at my heart.
They noticed my birthmark,
Before they noticed my dreams.
Some laughed.
Some judged.
Some made me feel different.
But today, I stand tall.
Because I have learned something powerful:
A mark on my body does not define my destiny.
My birthmark is not my weakness.
My weakness would be allowing other people's opinions
to control my happiness.
And I refuse.
I refuse to hide.
I refuse to be ashamed.
I refuse to let a mirror decide my worth.
Because my value is not found in my appearance.
It is found in my character.
My courage.
My faith.
My determination to keep moving forward.
To every person living with a disability,
a birthmark,
a condition,
or something the world calls "different":
Listen carefully.
You are not less.
You are not broken.
You are not a mistake.
You are a masterpiece created with purpose.
The same sun shines on you.
The same dreams belong to you.
The same success is possible for you.
Never let people make you feel small
for something you never chose.
Instead, let your strength speak louder
than their ignorance.
Walk proudly.
Smile boldly.
Dream fearlessly.
And remember:
The greatest disability is not what is on your body.
The greatest disability is giving up on yourself.
So I choose happiness.
I choose confidence.
I choose to love myself exactly as I am.
And no birthmark,
no disability,
and no opinion
will ever stop me from becoming
the person I was born to be. ❤️✨
