A little over a Billion people used to travel around the world pre-pandemic which caused massive damage to environment and society through fuel emissions, improper management and various other factors.

As COVID cases rose and brought the world and Tourism to a halt, the environment recovered such as the returning of dolphins to the Italian coast.

Although it was a wonderful news and people rejoiced the healing of naure, society and environment, it brought another question to mind.

What will happen when the pandemic ends?

Billions of people are traped everywhere in their homes and the urge to get out and travel is ever increasing with few experts even declaring that over Two Billion people will start traveling once nations open their borders.

Which made everyone wonder, will we really go back to the mass tourism which caused great harm to the environment? Is this the cycle we are stuck in? Is there a different approach where we can travel while ensuring as little harm as possible while also ensuring the greatest satisfaction to tourists?

The answer came from Bhutan which has been practicing a policy of 'High Value - Low Volume' since the late 1900s, decades before Covid and lockdowns came to existence.

The policy of 'High Value - Low Volume' ensures the highest quality of services to any tourists while strictly regulating negative impacts on nature.

Director General Dorji Dhradhul of Tourism Council of Bhutan will be sharing insights and ideas along with an expert group of panelists from all over the world.

Find our more on how the policy works and how other nations came up with their own versions by joining on 11th January, at Dubai Exhibition Center 2A South from 09:00 AM onwords (Gulf Standard Time).
