Did you know- The Bahamas Rum Cake Factory story begins in the heart of downtown Nassau, Bahamas in the year 2000. George Bates, originally from the United Kingdom founded a recipe that would inspire his โ€œOriginalโ€ Rum Cake. His recipe was so beloved that he decided to open a small Rum Cake shop, a store that has since then grown into the most favorite brand of Rum Cake in The Bahamas. Today, the Bahamas Rum Cake Factory still sits in the same location it started at, and has created a culture so irresistibly delicious that in 2014 it was recognized as the Official Rum Cake of The Bahamas. Loaded with their top-secret ingredients, baked to perfection, and gently marinated in their signature brand of Ole Nassau Bahamian Rum, their cakes have become not just a dessert, but also an important part of a new lifestyle for both Bahamians and tourists.
Fun fact- the shelf life for each cake is one year and still tastes just as phenomenal as day one.
This is one of the many small must-have taste of the Bahamas that we share to our client and visitors. Whats your favorite flavor? ๐Ÿซก๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ธ

Did you know- Bahamian beverages, specifically sodas and lagers, have been produced locally since the 1960's to present? From the past, Pinders to the modern Sands, CBL, just to name a few, to the Caribbean Bottling Company (which also bottles Coca-Cola products in the Bahamas). The savory Goombay Punch is a sweet, highly carbonated tropical punch that is famous for its bright yellow-orange look and distinct flavor. This is another Bahamian produced item we continuously commemorate, promoting sustainability, by recycling the cans within our decor for our clients locally and internationally. While incorporating live florals exquisite to our vibrant, colorful heritage, the profound beauty is also depicted on the most recent design of our oldest produced beer - Kalik.
Fun fact- The name "Kalik" is uniquely derived from the rhythmic "click-clack" sound of cowbells used during OUR traditional Bahamian Junkanoo, also compliments a satisfying bowl of scorch conch salad with "lil bit" of pepper ๐Ÿ˜‰ ๐Ÿซก๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ธ

Did you know - The Morton Salt Factory on Great Inagua Island, Bahamas, is the second-largest solar saline operation in North America? Located in Matthew Town, the facility spans roughly 300,000 acres and produces annually up to one million tons of sea salt using OUR natural sun and wind for evaporation. The harvesting process is seawater pumped into shallow interior ponds where natural sun and wind evaporates the water, leaving the crystallized salt. Recently acquired and restructured, this operation generates a revenue of 907 million to $1.1 billion annually. Lusca Salt Bahamas now serves as the primary industrial employer and economic engine for the island of Great Inagua. Fun fact - The high concentration of brine shrimp thriving in the evaporating salt ponds serves as the vital food source for the massive West Indian flamingo population, residing in the nearby Inagua National Park and thier droppings the size of dumplings assist in expediting the salt's crystallization process. ๐Ÿซก๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ธ

Fox Hill Day is one of the oldest cultural and historical festival in The Bahamas. Celebrated annually on the second Tuesday of August in the historic eastern New Providence community of Fox Hill, it marks the final 1838 emancipation of enslaved Africans. It honors the resilience of OUR ancestors, marking a crucial turning point in Bahamian history, and is honored by cultural festivities. Within this initial Foundation of "Freedom" the groundwork was laid for future milestones like Majority Rule and Independence Day. Those serve as moments to remember the fight for human rights, equality, and JUSTICE. We celebrate with traditional music and dance parades held in the most deep-rooted, African-descendant communities such as Fox Hill & Gambier village. Fun fact - In 1841, one of most successful slave rebellions in U.S. History was led by Madison Washington and Elijah Morris forcing their captors to divert and sail them to Nassau aboard slave ship called The Creole, landing western New Providence, hence the birth of Gambier village.๐Ÿซก๐Ÿ‡ง๐Ÿ‡ธ
