25H Sole Luna, what a weekend! We had to fight from start to end to get on the Semi-Pro podium, and so we did! 🥈

Another Endurance, another podium 🏆🥈

For the second Endurance in Sicily at the track of Sole Luna, we made a team of. Dorian, Horion, Erik & Kjell ready to race for 25H.

Horion set us in P.15/49 (P.4/10 in class). Who else then the Le Mans start King himself, Horion, to take the start of the race. A great start that set us in top 10 in the first lap.
Unfortunately, we had a ‘bad’ kart to start with, Horion was not able to keep on pace with the machine. We decided to switch strategy, ended up last in the first hour due to an early pit.

After a couple hours, going into the night, we had hope and saw our chances to get on the podium.
We had to fight against another Belgian team, Hunter by BKRT and an Italian team, Reverse.

All drivers pushed hard with every kart they had and after 22h of racing, P.2-P.3 and P.4 in class still had to be decided and we needed a good strategy (and crossed fingers for good karts) to make it to P.2.

The last 4 karts were okay to really good, we made up 24’’ in the last 2 hours, and even pulled away 30’’ and get the 🥈 in class 🙏🏼

It sure was not given, we had to fight for it, change strategy, do double stints even when we were tired physically and mentally. But we did it, as a team 💪🏼

Congratz to other teams, special mention to the Belgian teams we had nice fight on track with and nice moments off track too, VD Racing Team - BOW Racing - LDB Racing Team 🏁

A lot to say about this race and the organization, but we’re going home knowing we did what we could.
At least we were the fastest and sexiest on track, thanks to our 😛

Horion wouldn’t be Horion if we woudn’t start P.1
Massive Qualy he did, exact same time as Pagg & Pastina.

Happy to announce our next race will be the 24h of Sicily - Circuito Vincenza Ispica. on June 14th-15th.

Drivers:
- Wesley Peels | better known as Banana Peels, sliding through the grid
- Thibault Desmet | getting faster every week, not much experience outdoor yet, lets change that!
- Horion Van Waes | just became junior Belgian National Champion, we're sure he will kick ass!
- Dorian Dhondt | showed us some very good paces on outdoor tracks everywhere we go. Will again be important for the tactics
- Kjell Denhaerinck | The funny guy, tries to manage the 24h and drives too.

We are happy to be there all in Kartskins suits!

26H KARTING SAINTES:

We went with the idea to fight for a podium in the AM-class. Why not PRO? Because we don’t have a lot of Endurance experience, yet.

First of all, what very nice journey we had for this event and what a team!
From travelling together, sticking together for 3 days, taking care of each other & helping each other though these hard conditions. Knowing our team was made out of Dorian & Kjell, Erik 🇸🇪& Michélé 🇮🇹

Dorian set us in P.12 (P.4 in class) to start this promising, long and physical race of 26h.
Dorian took the Le Mans start and made it a great one, going from P.12 to P.8 and after a couple of laps immediatly in P.1 in class, from there on, we were expecting a long battle for the podium in our class. But we managed to keep good pace, great strategy, a smile on the face and a fighters mentality.

Going into the darkness, Michélé was involved in a big crash. We had no communications anymore and the organisation came running to our tent to have another driver going into the kart. We managed the situation well and luckily after a medical check, all was good and after a good night rest, he was back like never before in the morning. But, this also meant that the night needed - unexpected - to be driven by 3 drivers instead of 4. It was cold, we didn’t had a lot of sleep at that moment, so it was fighting on track but also with ourselves. But we said it from the beginning, we stick together.

Long story short, we had a few troubles, which are normal in a race like this, and we managed all of them the best we could. We ended a decent P.1 in class with over 6 laps on P.2 and a beautiful P.9 in general 🏁
This really is what we came for and what we deserved after this long race 🏆

We want to thank the whole team of Karting Saintes for the perfect organisation, the good food and there friendliness during the whole weekend.

Now, time for some sleep and see you all soon on track 🏁🏆

17/05-18/05 -> 26H Karting De Saintes
Happy to announce we will participate at this event with 4 drivers:
- Michélé who has a lot of experience in karting and also on this track!
- Erik the fast Swedish guy who has joined us last year to Sicily and proved he has a strong pace!
- Dorian the man of the night, faster by night then by day while his friends can sleep. Together with Kjell they will try to manage the tactics during the race too.
- Kjell joins to keep everyone alive and smiling, whilst driving and trying to put the best tactics together with Dorian.

We look forward to this race, beautiful weather and fun with friends!

3h Wet Race at Goodwill Karting.
Kortom, een zalige beleving. Fun, enorm veel geleerd en genoten van de fair-play van alle piloten/teams. Voor herhaling vatbaar 🏁
De race werd zonder kwali gestart (fun race). We starten op P.16 en eindigen op P.11 💪🏼

Morgen staan Dorian en Kjell aan de start van de 3H Wet Race bij Goodwill Karting in Olen. De ideale training voor de komende grote endurances dit seizoen.
