Why Stone & Acre?

Because I care about how children experience a day like this.

Weddings are long, unfamiliar, and full of expectation.
They’re beautiful, but they’re not designed with children in mind.

Weddings are one of the few times entire families come together across generations. When children are thoughtfully included, it shifts the entire atmosphere. It becomes warmer, more relaxed, more alive.

Parents aren’t torn between keeping kids quiet and missing moments, they can actually be present. And children aren’t just “there”, they’re engaged, settled, and part of the experience.

Some of the most genuine, joyful moments on a wedding day come from children. The unfiltered excitement, the dancing, the quiet little observations, the way they gather and play. That energy can’t be replicated.

And here’s the part most people don’t think about until much later, those children grow up.

A wedding with children doesn’t feel staged - it feels alive.

I have many wonderful memories from my wedding, but seeing children laugh and twirl on the dancefloor has got to be right at the top.

Every detail in our children’s spaces has been chosen to feel effortless and cohesive in a wedding setting.

Made to order timber tables, cushions sourced from luxe homewares stores, high‑quality acrylic tumblers and jugs that look like glass (but survive little hands), and 3‑metre event umbrellas identical to the ones wedding hire companies use. Even our styling arch is solid timber, not fabric. It all comes together to look stylish, polished, and intentional.

The value of the space itself only really shows on the day. For my own wedding, planning for children in advance was the single best thing I did for the comfort of our guests - and for my own peace of mind. It was the part of our wedding that received the most positive feedback, by far.

It transforms the day in ways you can’t imagine until it happens.

I’m offering a small number of pilot installations for weddings around the Canberra region with children attending.

Most couples don’t realise there’s a gap until the day itself - when little guests become restless and parents start stepping away early.

Stone & Acre creates thoughtfully designed children’s spaces that allow kids to settle, play, and stay close to their parents, so the day flows more seamlessly for everyone.

For this pilot phase, I’m focusing on reception and ceremony spaces, designed to support parent supervision rather than replace it.
