The support from Wee Waa Community Arts & Cultural Centre has been phenomenal. The importance of Art Centres - no matter the location or country - can never be underrated. They are integral to the health and wellbeing of all. We must ensure that our State and Federal Governments support the arts, the centres, the galleries and the events. .mp

So many stories so often lay buried usually because putting words to those experiences is often just too painful. There are always moments when I travel, where I have the privilege of creating an environment safe enough that these stories are shared. My art events are such places and this Apron Project Roadshow is another.

“When he broke my wrist, I knew I wouldn’t be getting out alive unless I left that night” - part of a conversation. A story shared and a connection made.

Together we can take down the invisible barbed wire barriers, rebuild hearts and homes simply by listening.

The fragility of emotions is real tonight.

We have an opportunity as we walk through life and stay in the lane that is the safest and most predictable or we can choose to step out and step up. My greatest joy is creating connections with my fellow human beings. To listen with intention and to see and hear the magic that is truly there waiting around every corner. Our life’s truest joys are made up in minute fractions and we must not waste a minute.

Now is the time to truly amplify our voices as one.
