We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of Country throughout Australia and recognise their enduring connection to the land, waters, and culture. We pay our respects to their Elders, past, present, and emerging, and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. We acknowledge that sovereignty was never ceded and that this land was, is, and always will be Aboriginal land.
As we reflect on our own connection to the places that hold meaning for us, it is important to recognise this connection is not just about ownership or habitation, but a relationship built on care, knowledge, and responsibility that has existed for tens of thousands of years. By acknowledging this, we honour the rich traditions, cultures, and histories that continue to shape Australia today.
We encourage you to take a moment to reflect on the places you feel most connected to and why they hold meaning for you. These connections help us appreciate the profound bond that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples have with their land—a connection that is spiritual, cultural, and deeply rooted in history.
