The brown crossback chairs are IN! 🤎🙌

We’ve got these beauties here as an example for our viewings, and even better… the full collection has been ordered and is officially on its way! 😍

On 3rd November, these gorgeous chairs arrive to fill Ivory Barn, and we honestly can’t wait to see them all set up. 😊❤️

They work SO beautifully with the rustic-meets-glam aesthetic we’re creating at Ivory Barn — warm, timeless and just the right amount of luxe. ✨

And wait until you see them paired with our new trestle tables… also in the works and on their way! 🙌🙌

It’s all starting to come together, and we’re so excited to see the space transform. 🤎

“Wow, who is your florist?”

Erm… actually, it wasn’t a florist. 😏

It was my wedding planner.

She built all of the flowers for the arbor, welcome sign and venue tables weeks before the wedding so everything was ready to go on the day.

“That’s cool… how much extra did that cost you?”

A. Nothing. It was included. 😳

And that’s exactly what makes us different.

Today at our sister venue, Ivory Pavilion, we created this beautiful bright mix of pinks, greens, oranges and yellows — all done in-house by Alyssa, your wedding planner.

✨ STAFF WANTED – IVORY BARN ✨

Ivory Barn is a gorgeous rustic barn located in Wallington, and we’re growing our team ahead of an exciting new chapter!

We’re currently working through the Geelong Council application process to open as a café, while the venue is already permitted to operate as a wedding and events venue.

With just 22 weddings per year, Ivory Barn will be a little different from your typical hospitality venue. Our team will be all-rounders, with opportunities across the café, barista, bar and events side of the business.

There will be potential for additional casual wedding and event work, with the opportunity for the right people to move into a part-time café + weddings/events role as the business grows.

We’re looking for people who:

✔️ Hold a current RSA
✔️ Have current and appropriate visa/work rights
✔️ Are reliable, hardworking and hands-on
✔️ Have a great personality and genuinely enjoy working with people
✔️ Love hospitality, weddings and events
✔️ Take pride in creating an amazing experience for every guest

You don’t need to be an expert at everything — we’re looking for great people with the right attitude who are willing to learn and become part of our team. (You will be trained & shadow our team from Ivory Pavilion over Oct to be ready for Nov) travel required 1-2 shifts.

We are excited to offer this exact ceremony chair. We decided to move away from a white chair for our Barn venue. It leans in to the gorgeous barn & surrounding farm and forest style backdrop paired with eucalyptus, flowers & w**e barrels its the perfect setting for a relaxed & luxe ceremony set up. Not additional costs to have our ceremony look set up for your wedding. Comes included in our wedding package. 💕💍🍾

**So… what’s taking so long? 👀💕

If you’re following Ivory Barn Cafe & Wedding Venue, thank you! Here’s a little catch-up on what’s happening behind the scenes.

Our cafe requires a council application, so this part of the process can take some time — lots of meetings, emails, reports and paperwork. Depending on how excited our neighbouring properties are, there can also be further legal stages involved. Here’s hoping 🙏 we can avoid mediation!

The really lovely part so far? We’ve already met quite a few of our neighbours and the feedback has been incredibly positive. There’s lots of excitement about having somewhere nearby to grab a coffee and breakfast, bring the dogs and kids, catch up with family and friends, and simply connect and relax. ☕️🐶💕

And even though the cafe isn’t open yet, we’re already referring business and putting money back into the local community through our wedding side.

Here’s just a little snapshot:

☕️ We’re hiring a local neighbouring resident as our full-time cafe manager & wedding venue assistant.

🚌 We’ve already referred and booked three local bus/transfer services for weddings — literally across the road from us!

🏡 We’re referring guests to a local Airbnb literally on Hardings Road.

🌿 Our next-door neighbour is our groundskeeper.

🍻 We’re sending after-party guests to the Barwon Heads Hotel following weddings.

💐 And then there are the countless local florists, photographers, celebrants, Airbnb hosts, hotels, cake makers, dessert trucks/carts, dress stores and so many more businesses we work with and refer to.

This is something that genuinely fills our cup. ❤️

We don’t take those relationships lightly. Being able to put food on the table for other local businesses and families is a huge part of why we love what we do.

And what about the weddings? 💍

The wedding venue itself is already permitted and ready to operate.

There were two weddings booked with the previous owners before we took over management, and we’ve made the decision to honour those bookings under the previous owners’ original offering.

So just to make it super clear:

19 September & 30 October are NOT weddings being run by Ivory Barn under our business, staff or management.

We have never met the couples and have absolutely no involvement in these two weddings — they are DIY weddings being handled directly with the previous owners. 😊

Because we’re allowing those two weddings to go ahead, we’ve also been thoughtful about what we remove from the barn.

We’ve cleared out the old, broken, dirty and worn furniture, but have left the usable chairs, trestles, couches, barrels and other items in place for those couples before we refresh everything to our furniture and add in all our kids, teens items.

The October wedding may even be lucky enough to have our fairy-light installation above them, as we’re getting everything ready for our first event on 6th Nov & 14 November — a 60th birthday celebration — followed by our first Ivory Barn wedding with our own couple on 28 November! 💕😍

We are a inclusive wedding package not a DIY-STYLE venue we do and take care of everything with & for our couples.

So, if you’re wondering why there haven’t been heaps of updates lately…

We’re busy!

We’re recruiting, training staff at our other venue so they’re polished and ready for Ivory Barn, working through council, coordinating trades, reports and applications, planning the cafe, preparing the venue and getting everything ready for what’s coming next.

And on a VERY fun note…

THE SHIPPING CONTAINER ARRIVES THIS WEEK! 🎉🎉💃💃

Which means we can finally start ordering all of the NEW furniture!!! 🙌

There is so much happening behind the scenes that you just can’t see yet but its all happening.

Out with the old.... ☺️🌿

For many years im sure these antique lounges & lamps, chairs and piano served the couples & guests who attended and they have some rich history but they have absolutely had there time and are very old and worn down. 🙏

Its time to refresh the furniture & items and give new life to Ivory Barn. Still rustic, antique and charming pieces but into a new era and style for our couples & families ahead.

First wedding in November ❤️💃🌿🥂 We cannot WAIT!

A wedding in Sep using the previous owners tables & chairs and lounges as they booked before we took over. And then its time to refresh and upgrade! Follow here for updates! And thank you for following the page.

We have now booked in 10 BEAUTIFUL couples who have put thier trust in us to deliver an inclusive package and exclusive experience and we cant wait to deliver that and more!

Only 12 more dates available and no slowing down on private viewings or bookings so absolutely expect the spots to be gone in a short couple of months. 😳🤗

We’re dreaming. 😍

Think farmhouse chic, rustic charm, Paris-inspired outdoor touches & a little bit of glam with farm house barn.

Curvey umbrellas, ice cream carts, a mobile bar, ch*****ne moments, hay bales, Paris-inspired outdoor furniture, fairy lights, hessian bows & floor runners, soft fabric draping, beautiful wooden signage and lawn games.

Then… a nature-filled cocktail hour with easy-to-grab canapés, trestle tables, brown crossback chairs, soft runners, LED candles and pops of colourful florals flowing through the tables and ceremony. 🌿🌸
