These past four months have been interesting. One day, the frantic rush of postponing a million weddings to another day of watching all 8 Harry Potter movies in one day.

It’s been tough, it’s been a breath of fresh air.

I look at my calendar for the next few months and I farewell my weekends. Yet again, another quintuple back to back weddings has found its way back in.

But you know what? Not a single bit of me is worried or weary. I cannot freaking wait to pick up a camera this weekend and feel the rush!

Ps did anyone else take a while to remember how to use a camera? Asking for a friend 🙊

I've shot 49 weddings since 2021 started. That’s ridiculous. I’ve been pushed to the absolute limits.

A few weeks ago, I booked flights to NZ for a little getaway before the second half of the year but that trip got shut down pretty abruptly.

Adding insult to injury, now there’s a lockdown. Despite all this, I’ve decided to hibernate and sign off for a week.

I won’t be responding to any emails or messages. For any urgent matters you can call me.

I’m eating my lunch/getting ready to shoot a wedding this afternoon. The 1st of 15 weddings this month.

This ain’t no April fools joke. This month is unlike any other for me. Sure other months get busy, but this is just hectic. Doubles, triples, quadruples every week, even a quintuple.

I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t overwhelming. It totally is. But it makes me realise how bloody much I love this job. It’s a period of time that’s unlike any other, but it’s a job unlike any other. Would never pick a better job. Here’s to a tonne of Maccas and coffee in April.

Ps. To those who have tried to email or contact me, believe me I’ve read it and I’ll reply! It may come at some ungodly hour but I’m still in touch!

It would be a massive understatement when I say “I miss shooting weddings”

On the other hand, having an extended break does have its wonders. I do miss having those lazy Saturday afternoons.

I haven’t posted on social media in a while... Not for any particular reason. I just think it’s important to take an extra breath, check in on my couples that have had to postpone their wedding and make sure everyone around me is safe and well.

So no stress! I’m here! Still responding to your messages, emails and inquiries.

Side note: How ridiculous is this sunset from Wendy & Daniel’s wedding. Shivers!

Not too long ago we were watching with a heavy heart as the bushfires raged on around Australia. Now, it’s a whole other battle.

I’m just about to head out to a wedding today. This may be my last chance for a little while, to photograph one of the happiest and most love filled events humans share together.

I for one will be enjoying every part of today, but safety comes first.

Shooting amongst the ruins of a bushfire really gets to you. Like many people across the world, we watch on with a heavy heart, as our brave volunteers and authorities fight through this catastrophic bushfire. Even one of my favourite venues (Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat) has been severely affected.

With that in mind, between now until the end of February, 30% of the deposit for any wedding package will be donated to the NSW Rural Fire Service or a reputable charity of your choice. A receipt will be provided.

Let's lift up our fearless authorities and volunteers with the support and thanks they deserve.

As the hours count down to the end of a decade, I think to myself how blessed I am to be here.
Never in a thousand years did I dream my life to be the way it is now.
I've met so many lovely couples, connected with ridiculously talented photographers and videographers.
If this is just one year, one decade, I can't wait to see what the future holds.
