Avoid burnout 💡

So many of my photography mentors talk about the importance of creative shoots to stay inspired and avoid burnout.

Don’t worry, we’re not even close to that. We genuinely love what we do.

But stepping outside the usual brief, playing with light, ideas and storytelling reminds us why we picked up a camera in the first place.

31 years since he left this earth.
Forever in our hearts.

It’s moments like this that remind us how invaluable a photo truly is.

My Grandpa, Louis. His brave choices brought our family to Australia. His eyes always held a deep warmth, lighting up even more when our family walked through the door. He was patient, kind and deeply loving.

Grandpa helped shape my lateral thinking mind. He would time me with puzzles, marvelling at how quickly I solved them. We both shared a love of a good puzzle.

He had a wonderfully quirky sense of humour. Even his disagreements with Grandma were humorous as they unfolded, quickly forgiven and later recalled with laughter and fondness.

Happy heavenly birthday, Grandpa.

Business owners always fascinate us. Passionate about what they do, and courageous enough to go after it. Whether it’s a side hustle or an established business, there’s something special about watching someone build a vision that excites them.

We loved photographing and filming this Airbnb property! Seeing the care in the details, the atmosphere they’ve created, and the thoughtful touches they’ve added for their guests’ experience.

Watching people light up doing what they love is one of the reasons I love what I do.

Ever wondered who cares for the carers? That would be VMCH. One of the many things they do is offer events that give carers the chance to unwind and refresh.

It was such a beautiful experience to join them at one of these events. Family photos, food, face painting and balloon art for the kids.

I looked after the photography, offering families a 10-minute session with the choice of studio photography inside or the option to make use of the gorgeous garden at Coonara Community House.

Catherine from VMCH did an incredible job taking care of every detail, alongside Michelle and Jess (pictured here with her family), who welcomed guests and ensured the day ran smoothly.

Heather brought the artistry for the kids with balloon art and face painting beyond anything I’ve seen before. (Thanks Heather, my kids LOVED their mermaid and dolphin balloons I brought home).

It was an amazing experience to play a small part in the valuable work VMCH does and to meet their beautiful families.
