Jack Ham Imagery A Sydney family photography business with more than a decade of experience in capturing memories. I've had a passion for photography from a really young age.

It didn't matter what I was taking photo's of, I just always loved having a camera in hand. At the age of 15 I started my journey in the professional photography world, working as a photographers assistant. Over the years I've had the pleasure to work for and work with Award winning photographers, across a broad range of genres. In 2017 I started working for Olympus Australia. This is where I disc

overed that I had a deep desire to teach people about photography and their cameras. If you need a photographer, or you would like to learn more about photography, please reach out to me so we can discuss your needs.

One of my amazing clients recently encouraged me to enter the Local Business Awards, so here we are.

To be honest, my business has never been about competitions, prizes or accolades. It’s always been about the art. Over the last 5.5 years of Jack Ham Imagery, that’s grown into something more. The way I work with my couples, the way we connect, the way the whole experience feels, that’s all become an extension of that same passion.

I’ve genuinely loved every part of building this as a small business. I can still remember every shoot, every wedding, every couple who trusted me to capture something so important to them.

And looking ahead, the next 12 months are shaping up to be the biggest yet. More weddings than I’ve ever had, with some seriously beautiful people and stories I get to be part of. That’s not something I take lightly.

If you’ve ever supported my work, booked me, shared a post or even just followed along, I’d really appreciate your vote. The link is below.

If you can, share it with your people too. Even if I don’t win, growing this community means everything to me.

Thank you for being part of it 🤍

Marcus & Alex 🤍

Still thinking about this one.

Planning a proposal sounds simple… until you’re in it.

Timing, light, location, nerves.

That’s where I come in.
Not just to take photos, but to plan it with you.

So you’re not second guessing anything
You’re not worrying if it’ll all line up

You just focus on them.

I’m already there early
Watching the light
Locking in the best spot
Making sure it all feels natural, not staged

So when it happens… it just flows.

And afterwards, you don’t just have the memory
You’ve got it captured properly

Something real to come back to.

Also… I’ve done this myself. 10 years married 💪
And helped plan more of these than I can count.

If you’re thinking about it, happy to help you get it right.

Relaxed couples make the BEST wedding photos 👰‍♀️

Claudia and Marcus were an absolute joy to photograph. Fun, present and completely themselves from start to finish.

No stiff posing. No awkward moments. Just real connection and a wedding day that felt exactly like them.

This is the kind of energy every wedding deserves.

I am Jack. A husband, a dad and the photographer behind Jack Ham Imagery.

I met my wife Mel when we were young and certain. Nearly two decades later we have grown up together, which is probably more of an achievement on her part than mine. That lived experience shapes the way I see weddings. Not as a performance, but as a moment within a much bigger story.

Life moves quickly. Chapters turn before you realise they have. On a wedding day I am thinking about how this will feel when you look back, not just how it looks right now.

My approach is calm and considered. I step back when moments unfold naturally and step in with gentle guidance when it helps. You will not feel over posed. You will not need to perform.

When you can relax and be yourselves, that is when the best photos happen.

At home life is full and slightly chaotic in the best way. Mel, Aria, Levi and Bali keep me grounded and remind me daily how quickly things move.

That is why I photograph honestly.

If this feels aligned, I would love to hear about your plans.

A wedding day isn’t a pause on real life. It’s part of it.

Carving out time for quiet moments with the people who matter most is how those moments carry forward. Including your kids on the day does that naturally. It challenges the idea that a wedding has to look a certain way or run on a perfect timeline. It reminds you that this isn’t just a celebration. It’s a marker in a much longer story.

Small hands in yours. Sitting together between moments. A breath before walking in. These aren’t distractions from the day. They’re the legacy you’re building in real time.

When you choose presence over performance you create something that lasts beyond the day itself. Photos become more than memories. They become proof of how your life felt at this point in time.

Save this for later or send it to someone planning a wedding their own way 🤍

Fifty Six days of showing up.

Some days it’s easy.
Some days the words fall out of me.
And some days I sit here wondering what’s worth saying at all.

This work isn’t about filling a grid.
It’s about connection.
About noticing the quiet in between.
About remembering why these moments matter long after the day has passed.

So if today’s post feels a little softer, a little slower, that’s intentional.
Because the most meaningful stories are rarely rushed.

And maybe that’s the reminder I needed too.

If wedding planning feels overwhelming right now, this is your permission slip to pause.
To take a breath.
To remember it doesn’t all need to be figured out today.

And when you’re ready, I’m here to take one thing off your plate and hold the memories for you.
Reach out when it feels right.

Only 9 months to go until Nita and Archie’s wedding day. It sounds like plenty of time but it will pass in a blink.

One thing that sets the way I work apart is that my role starts long before the wedding day itself. It’s never just about turning up with cameras.

We work through a detailed questionnaire together so I understand not just the logistics but who you are how you move together and what actually matters to you. From there you get regular check ins timeline advice and guidance that’s tailored to your day not a generic template.

If you choose to do an engagement shoot it becomes a really important part of the process. It’s a chance to break the ice get comfortable in front of the camera and realise you don’t need to perform to get great photos. By the time the wedding day arrives everything already feels familiar and easy.

And on the day I bring that same calm grounded energy with me. Helping steady the nerves read the room and quietly remove stress so you can stay present and enjoy it all as it unfolds.

It’s more than photography. It’s support trust and peace of mind from start to finish.

Nine months will fly. I can’t wait to walk this journey with you both.

Rain on your wedding day isn’t what you planned for. And it’s okay to feel disappointed at first. You’re allowed that moment.

But rain doesn’t take away from how special the day is. If anything it often slows things down and pulls you closer together. Some of the most meaningful moments happen when plans shift and you choose to roll with it.

A few ways to embrace it if the weather turns:

• Let go of the perfect timeline. Things may move a little slower and that’s okay.
• Don’t stress about being prepared. I always have clear umbrellas packed in my car just in case.
• Embrace getting a little wet if you’re up for it. Rain photographs beautifully.
• Focus on how the day feels not how it looks. The emotion doesn’t change with the weather.
• Stay close. Rain naturally creates intimacy and that connection always comes through.

You can’t control the weather but you can choose presence over frustration. Years from now you won’t remember the forecast. You’ll remember how you felt standing next to the person you chose.

More couples are breaking tradition in subtle but meaningful ways. Writing their own timeline. Skipping what doesn’t matter. Keeping what truly does.

The result is a day that feels lighter calmer and deeply personal. One where presence matters more than performance and connection comes before poses.

My role is to be your biggest advocate for that kind of day. To protect your space guide gently when needed and let the rest unfold naturally. No forced moments. No ticking boxes. Just you being fully there with each other.

Because the best photos don’t come from posing perfectly. They come from being present.

Unposed doesn’t mean unplanned.

The most relaxed wedding days are always the most intentional ones. Thoughtful timelines. Breathing room built in. Space to slow down instead of rushing from one thing to the next.

When your day is planned with care, you don’t feel managed or herded. You feel present. You get to relax, be yourselves and actually enjoy what’s happening around you. And that’s exactly how you avoid stiff, awkward photos that don’t feel like you.

Because when there’s space to breathe, the real moments show up. The quiet smiles. The deep breaths. The moments where it feels like it’s just the two of you, soaking in a day that exists for no one else.

My role isn’t to control your wedding day. It’s to help shape it so you feel calm, connected and free to be fully in it. That’s when the magic happens.

If you want a wedding day that feels intentional, relaxed and completely yours, let’s chat about how to plan it that way.

🍾 Thinking about doing a champagne spray on your wedding day? Don’t let that moment be your first ever attempt.

A little prep goes a long way. When it’s done well it feels effortless fun and looks incredible. Here’s how to nail it.

• Practise once beforehand. Even a quick run through at home helps you know what to expect so you’re not flinching at the pop.
• Chill the bottle properly. Cold champagne sprays better cleaner and with way more energy. Warm bottles are unpredictable.
• Shake it like you mean it. And then keep shaking. You genuinely cannot overdo this. Shake while we walk shake while we chat shake right up until the pop.
• Bring a second bottle. Sometimes the first one is a warm up or a dud. Having a backup takes the pressure off and gives us options.
• Choose a cork not a twist top. Easier to control and much easier to spray once it’s open.
• Thumb over the top straight away. Think watering hose. Keep shaking while it sprays for a fuller stream.
• Expect the pop. Smile early lean into it laugh and enjoy it. The anticipation is worse than the actual moment.
• Save it for the end. You’ll get wet sticky and smell like champagne. Best to embrace it when there’s nothing left to rush off to.
• Cheap is totally fine. Most of it ends up in the air anyway. Save the fancy bottle for drinking later.

Unposed doesn’t mean unplanned. It just means we set you up so the moment can be wild fun and very you.

Save this for later or send it to your engaged friends 🥂

Let me clarify. When I say I won’t pose you I don’t mean I’ll stand back and miss the big moments. If you want to pull off the most perfectly timed dip kiss you can bet I’ll be right there ready to capture it. I just won’t force it or make it feel awkward. If it feels natural and very you I’m all in.

If you’re dreaming of a dip kiss here are a few tips to help it look and feel great:

• Slow it down. The best dips aren’t rushed. Take a breath look at each other then go for it.
• Support matters. One solid hand at the back one steady hand holding theirs. Confidence always photographs better.
• Keep it shallow. You don’t need a full movie moment. A smaller dip often feels more relaxed and elegant.
• Practise it beforehand. Even a quick run through at home helps you both feel comfortable on the day.
• Do a little homework. A scroll on social media can be surprisingly helpful for timing and hand placement ideas.
• Laugh if it goes wrong. Some of the best photos happen right after when you’re laughing your way back upright.
• Trust the moment. Don’t look for the camera. I’ll be there.

Unposed doesn’t mean unintentional. It just means it still feels like you.
