DCP Hub

DCP Hub DCP Hub supports donor conceived people (DCP) as they come to understand what being a DCP means to them.

Creating educational events that focus on Donor Conceived People, sharing lessons of previous generations with new Parents via donor conception so they can better support their kids. We create educational events and support services that hold the DCP at the centre. We also aim to educate DCPs family and friends, as well as donors, so they can better support the DCP they love. DCP Hub stand for and advocate for Honesty, Kindness and respect, and Inclusion.

🎈🤩Excited to have a new book in stock - "Inconceivably Connected" by DCP, Nick Ludwig! 🤩🎈

Amplifying is super important to us. There are so many different experiences and we believe that listening to these stories can help build connection and empathy within the donor conception community. This is essential to support DCPs - there's no other way to know what they might need.

Brilliant article from , reviewing the research paper "Parents emphasize ongoing support needs, noting donor conception's long-term family impacts" which looks at heterosexual parents' experiences of their donor-conceived children's search for and/or contact with their donors in New Zealand prior to identity-release provisions. This is an incredible story. A key takeaway for us is that while science is amazing to facilitate the birth, as a society we have lots of thinking and action to take around the ethics to protect those involved - particularly the donor conceived person.

"Science may offer the means, but motherhood [parenthood] is where meaning is made. It’s in the glances between siblings born a generation apart. In the parents who waited years for a child. In the small, steady heartbeat of someone once frozen in time."

But genetics is not unimportant and must be considered.

In honour of Feona's annual pilgrimage to NZ with her daughter to spend time with her sister (shared s***m donor), we're making our Considerations for Donor Siblings Connections webinar available while they're away.

There are pros and cons to connecting with donor siblings. This webinar explores them and the approaches you can take to decide when and how to build those connections.

Another media article about donor conception that references 'both parties' (donor and parents) but FORGETS ABOUT THE DONOR CONCEIVED PERSON!

This drives us nuts (to put it nicely 🤬). Surely the MOST IMPORTANT party to donor conception is the person actually conceived?!

This article is about a new app in the UK trying to 'structure' the 'wild west' of informal s***m donation. Apparently it operates largely like Tinder. As it's classed as a social platform and not a s***m bank its not bound by the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority (HFEA) laws that apply to clinics and s***m banks. Wonder who will be most affected...?

Did you miss out on tickets for our How to Tell seminar in Brisbane this month? Don't stress! You can now get access to the replay.

For a limited time though so don't miss this valuable information from adult DCPs who've always known as well as psychologists and an author. Lots to learn, and stories to hear.

Order now at https://www.dcphub.com.au/book-shop/p/h2t25-seminar-replay (link in bio).

Our focus is always on how to improve things for donor conceived people so we support calls for ‘informal’ donor conception via social media being included in the ART review.

As donor coneived woman Em Fae points out, ‘donor honesty’ isn’t included in group rules. This is pretty telling of the current state of affairs.

A leading Australian fertility lawyer is urging governments to regulate the "wild west" of online semen donation, accusing them of being "asleep at the wheel".
