Sharing the Christmas Spirit at Sunshine Coast Celebrates 🎄

We're excited to come together this year to support a Giving Tree - a collective initiative that helps spread Christmas cheer across our local community.

At Sunshine Coast Celebrates on Thursday, 11th December, we ask that guests bring a gift to place under the tree for the charity they wish to support.

This year, the Giving Tree will support:

For 2025, The Sunshine Coast Event Industry Association encourages guests to donate their gift to whichever of the four charities they feel most connected to.

Major news for the Sunshine Coast events and entertainment industry! 🌟 The stadium expansion has officially entered its design phase, increasing capacity from just over 1,000 to 10,680 seats. With a planned rail and bus terminal nearby, crowd access will be seamless — paving the way for bigger concerts, national sporting events, and international gatherings. 🏟️

This is a game-changing upgrade for our region’s event infrastructure and a lasting legacy ahead of the 2032 Games.

The refreshed Major Events Strategy continues to guide Council’s investment, with a focus on balancing the calendar, supporting emerging events, and preparing the region as a Co-Host for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The arts sector can be challenging with minimal opportunities and growth presenting itself, especially from a regional and remote context, often facing an unreliable ebb and flow of income and funding. How do you stop lurching from one project to another and develop a more stable, consistent and sustainable career and practice?
