Morena has been a devoted member of the Darebin community and a long-time friend of Oliva Social. Through the tough times of COVID lockdowns and many of our most memorable celebrations, she’s been right here, spinning tracks and lifting spirits. Now, it’s our chance to return the love and show up for her!
As many of you know, Morena has faced harsh and unfair criticism on TV and social media. We want to take a stand and say this loud and clear: Online bullying has no place here. Our Story
It really is quite simple. We needed to find a better way to party.
Early in 2019, our owner Adam and his wife Tijana got hitched (pictured either side of the shiny Bialetti). Eventually they found a nice venue and settled on what was an awesome wedding. However, during the time of planning that event, boy did they see a problem. The events market just seemed a little out dated and this gave them the inspiration to try something new. Mind you, Adam has been around weddings as a muso all his life too.
For first timers in hospitality, the fitout came up mint! There is no other word to describe it, apologies. Adam put his heart and soul into the fitout and boy was he chuffed with the end result. But now the focus is on running the business. Still all heart and soul by the way.
Building our team is the key. A united team, working together to provide a uniform welcoming front for our guests. ‘All singing from the same song book’ they used to say. Now it’s ‘all scrolling from the same iPad’. Whatever the term is, nothing has changed really. Good food, good booze and service with a smile can’t be superseded by technology. Lucky for that because we plan to be around a while! Our aim it to make our place feel like your home.
So the background for Adam is financial services, real estate and music. Chalk and cheese in one body. You’ll see he is a bit crazy. But he does know how to put on a party! You can follow his band Siesta Cartel and check out the professional side to his family at Cursio Group.
And Tijana is a marketing guru. Her family with her help makes skincare products and sell them worldwide. You can check that out at Core Metrics.
They have two kids. Sofia is 3 and Marcel is 6 months old. Yep, this bar came along with baby number 2. So of course there is baby change table in the disabled toilets and a hook on the wall close by for the baby bag. You’ll see that they really did think about all ages in this place and they can’t wait to host your event at Oliva Social!
