Is there anything more quintessential than a backyard wedding in March in Victoria?

Adore this set-up for Jess and Dev's laid back nuptials yesterday arvo, surrounded by their most loved family. Some palettes knocked together, shielding the colorbond, decorated with flowers, fabric and fairy lights and one beautiful shady tree (look closely for a sweet little nesting box for some added whimsy).

After a stroll around down town Eaglehawk for some epic snaps with ( ), they relaxed at home for a bit before the party later.

I do's said, vows and rings exchanged, papers signed and bam, it's that simple!

MICRO WEDDING RECESSIONAL?

I love a petal toss recessional moment, and this is how to do it, micro wedding style.

After I pronounce you married, I invite your guests to come up for hugs and congratulations. We sign the marriage docs and then set up an 'aisle' for you - just like this! A beautiful time for you to walk through your family and friends, being showered with petals and love to start your married life together. 💕

For Nick and Kloe, it was the 15th anniversary of their first date (when they were high school sweethearts ❤️).

Sutton Grange hilltop, vibrant blooms, ancient trees, loving bunch of family and a 'little white chapel' all watched over by the majestic Leanganook.

MICRO WEDDINGS ARE IN!

One of the biggest changes I've seen since becoming a celebrant is the rise of micro weddings.

You can have everything you've ever dreamt about for your wedding day minus the exhorbitant cost and extensive guest list. (and a perfect excuse not to have to invite all those boring cousins that you never see and don't really like!)

At Elope Bendigo!, our Micro Wedding package is our most popular - up to 30 guests, a lovely short and sweet ceremony, and 1.5 hours of photography - all for a very competitive price.

Kiarra and Lachie had planned for a romantic elopement on the river bank at Bridgewater.

On the day, we all awoke to a very dodgy weather forecast of thunderstorms and gale force winds, and all of a sudden, the thought of the river bank was not so appealing.

We threw around some options until Alli came up with this inspiration - the platform of the Bridgewater railway station!

Not only were we all dry and comfortable, but it was the perfect place for Alli to create some photography magic with shots like this (*stormy day bonus was that beautiful sky).

There's a lot of chat on the 'gram about choosing your wedding vendors wisely and then trusting them - at Elope Bendigo we will do all that we can to make your elopement or micro wedding something extraordinary!

GETTING MARRIED WHEN YOU HAVE A YOUNG BABY........

When baby Houston was born, Jana put off the idea of getting married as she thought it was just TOO HARD!

Partner Trent had a bright idea though - hire a romantic B'nB and call in Elope Bendigo!

It was relaxed, intimate, and fuss-free. And baby was perfect throughout.

I am often asked what I do after the ceremony is finished.

I step out of the way to enjoy the few minutes watching you being congratulated, put on some music to keep the festive vibe happening, help your photographer set up a group photo, and then get back to the marriage documents .

I have a quiet moment to make sure every signature is there, every name correct. I pack up my stuff and then come and find you to say goodbye.

I jump in my car and usually can't stop smiling all the way home - another beautiful couple is married, tucked away in a corner of my heart forever - and I had the time of my life doing it!

Some Do's and Don'ts:

DO
✔️ write in your own voice
✔️ speak from the heart
✔️ use a little bit of humour, if that's your ceremony vibe
✔️ mention personality characteristics that you adore
✔️ say what you are really grateful for
✔️ end with a couple of decent promises to your partner
✔️ PRACTISE, PRACTISE, PRACTISE!

DON'T
❌️ copy something from Google
❌️ use chat GPT (everyone will know and it won't sound like you)

In a nutshell, that's the way to truly authentic vows. I have a helpful guide and am always happy to help.
