How To Reduce, Calculate and Replace Wedding FOOTPRINT 👣

I spoke to Naomi Kroll, a Sustainability Champion who dreams of having an Eco-Friendly wedding. She shared these amazing tips on how you can too be an Eco-Friendly Champ like here 👇

1. REDUCE ♻️
Any attempt to reduce materials, stuff, transportation, produce will reduce impact. This isn't from the perspective of just you as the wedded couple, but guests and vendors too.

2. CALCULATE ♻️

3. REPLACE ♻️
Now that you feel great in your heart and mind knowing you have made some changes or choices that aren't so harmful to the environment, to give it a BIGGER hug, offset the remaining carbon with something the planet needs like trees (p.s. perfect wedding favour contributions, right?)

These are ESSENTIAL elements of a Modern Wedding.

What do I actually mean? The elements that make up a modern wedding are:

▪️ you and your people
▪️ place(s) to host formal and informal parts of your wedding day
▪️ food + drink service, you can’t have your people starved or thirsty
▪️ entertainment to celebrate + create that atmosphere
▪️ theme + styling, to sparkle some pretty

What is a PRE-wedding planning requirement? 👇🏻

Go on a Date Night with the Fiancé and have a light-hearted and free-flowing conversation about these things:

1️⃣ Discuss and Review Previously Attended Weddings: Share the things you liked, didn’t like, specific moments that jumps out in your memories, like how you travelled to/from the wedding, the speech formats, the weather that day, what was cringey things that happened etc
2️⃣ Share What’s Actually Important To You Both:
Make it unique to you by incorporating you, like do you want to move quickly into party-mode, would you like your loved ones to be involved or have custom traditions incorporated, anything.

3️⃣ What Vibe Do You Both Want To Create:
How do you imagine yourselves and your guests to feel and be like at your wedding? You want your guest can walk away and think that was such a ……. ( fun / chilled / glam / cool ) wedding.

4️⃣ Who Are Your Must-Have Guests:
Talk about the important people in your lives and what they mean to each of you. Plus, a great chat to think about how to thank, acknowledge or to even invite your loved ones into your special day.

5️⃣ What Are Your Goals For The Future:
What do you both hope for the future in your marriage together, align your goals together (or individually) to remind each other of the bigger picture. Eg, you may desire to purchase your first home together so something to consider when you are setting a budget.

If only people stopped 🛑 asking so you could figure this damn WEDDING PLANNING thing out 🙇‍♀️

Of course, you are excited to get married!!

It's just that.. When you've taken the first steps to plan the wedding you've been surprised at the sheer number of things you have to do and you're at lost on WHAT to do and HOW to do it?!

Your friends, the blogs, HECK, the wedding professionals are blasé! NO ONE is able to show you a SIMPLE way there, without of course, hiring a Wedding Planner for ~$8k (and you rather save that for 🌹 📸 🎸).

Meet .j.Crawford, now Caroline Patterson - a Fashion and Design Enthusiast, and a Lover of all things Love - My type of gal!

Caroline married her college boyfriend John, in the most phenomenal wedding affair that was celebrated over a few days in Charleston, South Carolina.
