What an exhilarating ( and exhausting!) experience yesterday was, lifting the name of Jesus over our city! Thank, thank you, thank you to those who helped plan, prepare and present the float we had, when we didn’t have a float (ie a walking troupe). How fulfilling is it to join as the body of Christ and sing in his mighty name to 65 000 people!?! We won before we started because we have eternal victory through Jesus!
We also came second in the community walking troupe division. A lovely bonus at the end of the parade! 🙏✝️🎉👏🎶🎤☀️💐🌺🌻

Long before there was a manger, there was a promise.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given…” — Isaiah 9:6

For generations, God’s people waited and hoped for the promised Messiah. Then, in the quietest and most unexpected way, the Saviour arrived.

Follow the Star doesn’t begin only at the manger. It invites you into the waiting, wonder and anticipation that led to that holy night.

This Christmas, step into the story and rediscover the hope that arrived with Jesus.

Last year, more than 3,000 people followed the star—and this December, the journey begins again! ⭐

For five incredible nights, The Goods Shed came alive with actors, animals, music, a bustling marketplace and the story at the heart of Christmas.

Behind it all was a mighty team of more than 120 cast members, crew and volunteers, working together to share one message with our community:

Jesus came—and His birth brought hope to the world.

In 2026, Follow the Star returns with another opportunity for families from across Toowoomba and the Darling Downs to experience this remarkable story together.

Were you part of Follow the Star last year? Tell us your favourite moment in the comments—and tag someone you’d love to bring in 2026!

Before the gifts were wrapped…
Before the lights were hung…
Before Christmas became a date on our calendar…

There was a promise.

A Saviour would come. Hope would enter the darkness. God would draw near to His people.

Then, beneath a star in Bethlehem, Jesus was born. ⭐

This December, Follow the Star invites you to step away from the rush of the season and journey back to where Christmas began.

Come and experience the wonder, joy and hope of the Christmas story brought to life at The Goods Shed in Toowoomba.

Admission is FREE, with journey sessions departing throughout each evening from 17–20 December.
