Oliver Thomson - Marriage Celebrant, MC & Funeral Planner Since 2014 I have had the pleasure of marrying hundreds of couples. Sydney-based and regularly travel to Gold Coast, Brisbane, Byron Bay, Melbourne and beyond.

I love delivering highly-engaging ceremonies that are personalised, relaxed, appropriately funny but still perfectly balanced with a healthy dose of sentiment. You may not know this, but my work extends beyond weddings. I also support families through funerals, and help others learn to do the same.

Being a Funeral Celebrant is a role I hold very close to my heart.

This pic with (The Funeral Fix co-creator and dear mate) is from our recent in-person training day which is something we built for celebrants who want to show up with heart, clarity, and confidence in the face of grief.

I was so grateful for being able to co-host the 4th annual in-person event for

When and I created the course, we wanted to offer something that showed anyone with a passion for helping those at end-of-life to become the best Funeral Celebrant they could be, we never imagined it would grow to the level it has.

And it’s still growing!

There’s a quiet bravery in showing up for this kind of work. It asks a lot of you. And still, people arrive with arms wide open ready and willing to learn how to do it and how to do it well.

The Funeral Fix In-Person was a gathering of incredible people learning to support other incredible people in tough moments.

Grateful to be part of it.

What you do see: me, Yaz, Adam and Annie soaking it all in after a day of big hearts and honest conversations.

This is The Funeral Fix In-Person. This is a huge part of my work and I’m really proud of it.

Yaz and I created The Funeral Fix as an online course but it was too good to not bring it to life (literally).

It’s not every day you get invited to a wedding weekend with go-karts, high ropes, and taco trucks. But when Naomi & Purav are involved, you clear your calendar.

They planned the whole thing in under 3 months (because of course they did), then kicked off their Sunday evening ceremony under the gumtrees with wood-fired pizza on one side, tacos on the other, and the lighthearted vibes flying strong!

Chopper pilots by profession, party starters by nature.

Naomi & Purav’s wedding wasn’t just a ceremony, it was an overall immersive experience.

Between the salt-rimmed margis, the high ropes course, and the emotional cat references, these two chose me to bring the chill + cheer to their ceremony.

But we wrangled a guest, got the timing right, and captured a gem: the three of us with the one and only

Carlita is in a league of her own. Not just in what you see when the photos are done (which, chef’s kiss), but in the way she creates an atmosphere that’s inclusive, calm, and filled with warmth. That energy makes magic from real reactions, real joy and real connection. And it absolutely shows.

We're all set and ready to go. In fact, we're going. We're into it.

The couple are there. Their wedding party is on standby making sure we're all safe and now I've got the incredible privilege of sharing in the ceremony moment and leading the couple and their friends and family through a ridiculously good time.

The atmosphere and vibe of the entire day relies so much on the ceremony being a true reflection of the couple.

A ceremony that seems effortless, engaging, inviting, relaxed and comfortable. That's what I'm here for and that's what I'll keep showing up to do!
