A little snippet into what ‘balance’ currently looks like for us!

Mornings with Sully and afternoons (and most nights) doing work. I’m still in that phase of figuring out the balance of how much child care we need and how much work I have on, but I think we’ve almost nailed it.

Not having any family nearby means we have to work hard for our support village and don’t have people available at the drop of a hat. It’s not easy but we’re very lucky with the support we do have with our incredible friends and the beautiful Nanny we have found for Sully!

It’s officially been 3 months of a gradual return to work / biz life since having Sullivan almost 7 months ago now!

Early mornings, late nights, working during naps, having a desk (or carrier) buddy and finding some moments to myself when I can 🌊

It’s not been easy, it’s not been linear, it’s been messy. Some weeks have been more productive than others and there are times I’ve wanted to give everything up and never think about work or running a business ever again. But, alas. I’m here, I’m still going and I’m more determined than ever before to get things moving and continue working with some incredible humans!

I’ve spent the last 3 months focusing on 3 of my clients who have stuck with me through it all and I am SO grateful 🤎.

We have a little more regular support available now with Sully and so I have availability for up to 2 more business management / consultancy clients over the next couple of months! 💥

So if you’re looking for someone to help with event, project or business management - please get in touch! Only caveat is that you love chocolate croissants, margaritas and having a good old chat more than me 💃🏻

From customer service support to managing a project and product development - I’ve loved being able to use and prove my skills, while working alongside such a supportive and ambitious team! ✨

When I started my business (nearly 4 years ago!), I knew that I wanted to make it my full time gig, I just wasn’t exactly sure how long that was going to take! ✨

One thing that was important to me from the start was to make sure I was working with the right clients, and not just jumping into work that I know wasn’t the right fit just because it was a way of making money! We all know relationships like that never end well. 😆

It’s officially been a year now since going ‘all in’, and honestly it’s been my best year yet! However, as I’m now going on maternity leave, I can’t help but feel a little sad. It feels like everything I have worked hard to build up is suddenly being lost. Giving it all up without knowing what will happen on the other side is scary!

I have to keep reminding myself that achieving my ‘all day every day hustle’ has been done once, so I sure as heck can do it again. Yes it’s a time for change, but change isn’t always a bad thing. And of course, it’s all for good reason! 🍑👶🏻

I cannot wait to fully jump into this next phase of life and see where it takes me! 🤎

Making sure I constantly remind myself of my ‘why’. Why I am here. Why I have chosen to start and run my own business. Why I am determined to succeed. ✨

From being in a job where I was limited by everything before I started this journey, I now have - flexibility, freedom, a better work/life balance, the ability to choose who I work with, learning, creativity, variety, building genuine connections + friendships, personal development - just to name a few.

AND I get to work with some of the most inspiring businesses doing epic things! 🪩🌶️

Being able to work from anywhere is pretty frikkin’ special too!

The ‘whys’ are what keep me focused, motivate me each day and remind me why I took this leap! ❤️‍🔥

It’s been a pretty damn good, varied, fulfilling few months 💥

☕️ Client coffee catch up (post holidays and sharing the baby news)
🐶 Got briefed, quoted and kicked off a new project to launch a dig subscription box
🐰 Office snacks around Easter are elite
☀️ Got stuck in Sunshine Coast airport for a few hours on a Monday AM which messed up all my meetings - chocolate croissant solves everything and managed to get lots done!
🪩 Legit me every time I leave the house to run errands and work from a new location

With only 6 weeks of work to go until I take myself on a little bit of Mat Leave - it’s all starting to feel very real and there are lots of mixed emotions going on!

I’m so bloody nervous to be taking time off work. Taking time away from my business that I have worked so hard on and grown over the last 4 years.

Excited to be taking some downtime and lapping up that newborn bubble.

Worried that I won’t be able to build my business back up to where it is now when I return.

Looking forward to this new chapter and taking on a new ‘role’ as a Mumma!

Praying that being a mum isn’t all that’s going to define me from now on, and being a business owner and working hard doing what I love is still something that will shine through!

Hoping I’ll be motivated to be as busy, active and sociable as I am now, but also remember to slow down and soak up those early years as I know how quickly they disappear!

Wishing I’d done more pelvic floor exercises…

It’s definitely going to be a learning curve and slowly I’m getting my head around the fact that I can let go and things will fall into place and work out how they’re supposed to eventually! 🤎

I love that this means something different for everyone depending on how they interpret it and how they want to achieve it. For me, it’s through PRIORITISING! ✨

Prioritising my time + energy. Prioritising tasks that are more time sensitive and achievable rather than wasting or losing time on tasks that are unnecessary and non-valuable. 🌼

This is done by TIME BLOCKING. It’s my key to making sure I have allocated the right amount of time to each of my clients every week, depending on what we’re working on. It doesn’t mean the time slots are set in stone, things change, and get moved all the time - but having it in there keeps me accountable, and enables me to know what my focus is going to be on and for how long.
