A night of connection, conversation & creative energy! ✨

On Friday evening, our local creative community gathered at the Butter Factory Theatre to meet HotHouse Theatre’s new creative leadership team - Lindy Hume and Andrew Gray.

The night was inspiring and energising - filled with ideas, laughter and shared passion for the arts in our region.

This was the first of many gatherings designed to spark conversations about the future of HotHouse and explore opportunities for artists, creatives and storytellers across Albury Wodonga.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us to share your ideas, insights and energy. And to those who couldn’t make it, there will be plenty more opportunities to be part of the conversation!

We accept donations from all humans, animals and species! Big thanks to the generous black cow who has dug deep today to support us on this AusArts Day. They are big advocates of our artists who take up the GreenHouse residency at the Wonga Wetlands because they get spoilt! 🐄

Our Story

HotHouse Theatre is an adventurous producer and presenter of high quality Australian theatre, and a centre for artistic retreat and development. Located on the border of regional NSW and Victoria, we also provide artistic and professional development programs for the communities of Albury-Wodonga, and the surrounding regions of Southern NSW and North East Victoria.

We began as the Murray River Performing Group in 1979, when nine brilliant, determined Victorian College of the Arts theatre graduates descended upon the border towns of Albury-Wodonga. Their mission: to settle in the region and respond theatrically to its life and spirit. In 1997 we transformed into HotHouse Theatre, a contemporary, professional theatre company offering diverse, exciting theatre fare to our regional audiences.

In 2018, we are a versatile organisation with deep local roots and broad national reach. The people of our region continue to support us generously: as engaged audience members, as sponsors and givers, and as enthusiastic partners and participants in our community programs and services.
