Mother’s Day is just round the corner , and if your like me , you think your mumma is going to live forever . Sad reality is - she won’t , my mumma died suddenly , without warning , without a goodbye , just here one day and gone the next. Mother’s Day is really just like any other day . You should cherish every moment you get , stay a little longer when you visit , chat a little longer when she calls and when her name pops up on your phone answer with a smile and know it’s a blessing some of us wish we still had ..
Last year I came across an American site called Remento - basically it’s family story telling time capsule. I thought ,great idea I’ll jump on that . So every week since then my mum got an email with a question about her growing up or what kinda trouble she got in, her biggest achievement , all those kinda questions . She only answered 8 but I’m to grateful for those 8 answered .
Because when she passed , I had forgotten about Remento , so when I logged on hoping to have some stories to read I got a pleasent surprise that it was actually a voice recording of my mumma telling me her stories . I could upload pics and then got a book sent to me . The book has QR codes to scan , so when u scan it the recording plays . Honestly it is part reason I’m strong enough to preach to everyone that they should set it up for their loved ones - it’s not expensive and it’s been made so that oldies can answer questions without needing to be tech savvy .
I keep saying to everyone- it’s never too early to start asking all the questions , but it can be too late .. so please do yourself the favour and set it up - or at least check it out incase your feeling sceptical - this isn’t a paid advert it’s just from one child who just lost her mum to another whom still has the chance to get some answers ..
