Learning the ropes… 🦆
Spotted these little ducklings in Kalamunda this morning, apparently practising one of the essential skills of being a duck — standing up in the water and giving the wings a good flap.
The only problem is… they haven’t really got the wings yet. 😂
Still, you’ve got to start somewhere!

A little look back at Lil & James’ wedding from last October.

It was such a lovely day to photograph, with plenty of genuine emotion, laughter and more than a few happy tears along the way. ❤️

Those real, unscripted moments are often the ones that make the most memorable photographs.

Sometimes it’s the quieter expression, the light and the shadows that tell the story.
A little low-key portrait work from a recent shoot — keeping things simple with one subject, controlled light and plenty of shadow.
There’s something about black and white that strips away the distractions and leaves you with the person.

We are down in Prevelly, in Margaret River, and of course the camera gear came too. I have spent a few months fine-tuning my A6700 plus that two-hundred to six-hundred setup for wildlife, but turns out, those exact settings absolutely great on surfers. Fast shutter, tracking, burst, it's all there and the speed, the spray, the movement freezing those droplets was something else. So, a kind of different kind of wildlife photography.

I photographed this sequence in Toodyay, Western Australia, when a peaceful moment between two doves quickly turned into a rather spectacular disagreement.

What followed was an incredible little aerial battle — wings, feathers and attitude everywhere! The beautiful backlighting made the whole encounter look far more graceful than I'm sure it felt to the birds involved.

One of those wonderful moments in wildlife photography where you just keep the shutter firing and see what you've captured afterwards.

Caught mid-song 🎶

A Red Wattlebird giving it everything on a beautiful Saturday morning in Beverly, Western Australia.

I love those moments in wildlife photography when a still image somehow seems to capture sound as well as movement. Head back, beak open and completely committed to the performance — I was lucky enough to press the shutter at just the right moment.

Last night we had the pleasure of seeing fever – Pink Floyd by Candlelight at the beautiful Fremantle Town Hall.

What an amazing experience. The music of Pink Floyd performed by candlelight was fantastic, but the setting made it even more special. Sitting inside such a magnificent old building, surrounded by the warm glow of hundreds of candles, created an atmosphere that was pretty hard to beat.

A great night, brilliant music, and one of those occasions where the venue was every bit as much a part of the experience as the performance. 🎶🕯️

Avon Descent morning 🚣‍♂️💦

A great morning out watching the action at the Avon Descent — one of WA’s iconic events.

Fast water, plenty of spray, some serious skill and a beautiful winter morning to be out with the camera. I put together a few moments from the morning — a mix of video and stills capturing just a little of the atmosphere and action.

Always a fantastic event to photograph, and even better just being there to watch it all unfold.
