Having worked for Perth bridal studios J & V Wilsons, Edith Wilsons, Casa Della Sposa, Modern Bride and Donna Tobin Couture as well as working with her own clients, making wedding gowns, bridesmaids dresses, evening gowns and much more. In 2007 Denise decided to concentrate exclusively on just wedding gowns. DWB uses exquisite laces, beautiful silks, luxe satins and sheers, Swarovski crystals and
beads and handmade buttons. A couture dress is created 100 percent from scratch—each custom design is patterned and the finest materials are specifically sourced and cut for each bride with several progress fittings, including a calico mock version. No alteration costs. Gowns are made in Perth, so you have input at each dress fitting. DWB can also provide your veil and accessories and hoop hire if needed. DWB also stocks and sells off the rack wedding gowns. Sample sizes 8 to 26 currently in stock. The DWB studio is located in Connolly, Western Australia. Connolly is situated in the northern suburbs alongside Joondalup. Consults are obligation and cost free, so there is no pressure. Feel free to make contact with any questions, an estimate or to make an obligation free appointment. Visit our website www.denisewright.com.au

A few new arrivals have landed in the last couple of weeks - check them out!
Samples are discounted ✨

I always take a few snaps when my brides collect their dress! Today I wanted to share a few of my past gorgeous brides and their dresses. It’s a mixture of custom couture and off the rack dresses ✨
Sometimes I forget to share because I’m so busy, so if you are a DWB bride, from any year, please reach out if I haven’t featured you so I can 🫶🏻
This is an original DWB design from way back when, aka the 90s 📼
I love looking at older designs when features become current again 🫶🏻
The drop waist with a peak bodice (known these days as a Basque) and gathered skirts. This dress is in 100% silk dupion, and because this fabric is lightweight, it doesn’t add bulkiness, like some satins can 🤍
Another feature I am seeing more of is the shawl collar. In this DWB design, the shawl collar has a twist to it with 3D flowers 🌸
This DWB original can still be made, as is or a variation, in 100% silk dupion for $1995. A variety of colours are available, and there are no alteration costs ✨
I just wanted to do a shout out/thank you to all DWB past, present and future brides 🙏🏻
I have been in the bridal gown industry since 1983 and my own business since 1987, so I must be doing something right 🥰
When I ventured out on my own, after gaining valuable experience at J&V Wilsons (Perth’s premier bridal house back in the 80s), I did a lot of contract work for places such as Edith Wilsons and Donna Tobin Couture. You won’t find many local bridal houses in Perth that still make their dresses here. Whilst my business has branched out to off the rack dresses, I do still offer DWB custom couture dresses 🤍
The DWB range is made by myself, meaning my range can be totally customised - they can start as a base and build from there ✨
Here is a photo of the very first DWB client in 1987, and the rack of dresses I am currently working on 🫶🏻
Our feature bride tonight is the lovely Tahlia. She just looks so beautiful.. the photos say it all 💕
Tahlia’s dress was an elegant and classic beauty in satin. Style DB616 has been very popular with brides lately, with quite a few having a variation - no train, no net, zip/button closure etc. ✨
I no longer have this dress in stock but will bring it back soon! 🤍
All the best to the newlyweds! Photos are by Wild and Free by Shan Lee 📸
Tonights feature bride is Kerryn, a DWB custom couture client 🤍
Kerryn’s dress was a magnificent vibrant red... there were 28 metres of tulle that went into this beauty! Layers of handkerchief cut tulle to give volume to the skirt and the bodice ❤️
Kerryn looked amazing and gorgeous and I loved our chats at each fitting 🥰
I will say that I do love working with colour and I do get many brides wanting either a touch of colour or a full coloured wedding dress. Why is this? Because it can be a mammoth task trying to find a dress in the colour you want at bridal stores 👎🏼

What happens when a lovely bride comes to you two days before the wedding needing a dress? I try and help the best I can! 🥰
This is what happened to Sarah. The previous record held by a bride was five days before the wedding 👀
Sarah had ordered a dress online. It was a super cute short dress but the colour was totally different to the depicted picture, which is what Sarah was expecting. After trying on several of my dresses, Sarah put on Style 10133 - a full lace boho dress. It was an almost perfect fit.. a tad big but not noticeable, and so flattering. I took photos of Sarah from different angles so she could see how gorgeous she looked. She was over the moon and her big smile said it all, plus she kept saying ‘this is my dress’ 😍
The bonus was that this dress was 56% off as it was a clearance dress 👌🏼
This dress is also still available in a Size 8 in the clearance section 🤍
Sarah sent through a couple of photos from the day. Photos are by Denice Knopjes - DK Photography 📸
Tonight we are featuring a DWB custom couture bride, Jemma 🤍
Jemma had a very clear idea of what she wanted - a 3 piece ensemble consisting of trousers, a top and an overskirt. She was also wanting the large flower embroidery look for the top and overskirt 🌸
I was so happy when Jemma messaged with photos and said I brought her vision to life. All I can say is she looked gorgeous and totally rocked the look! 😍
Now, a little about the wedding outfit. I used a polyester satin with a slight stretch for more comfort, especially for the trousers. The top was a bustier fit. I won’t lie that getting the fit was no easy feat! Jemma sacrificed one of her excellent fitting bras for the job so I could mould the bustier to it. I did have to cut the back of the bra off as the top was a lace up back. Carefully placed lace sprays were appliqued on. Jemma also had the choice of going strapless or interchangeable thin straps or tulle straps 💕
The overskirt was a classic A-line going into a train. Again, thoughtfully placed large flower motifs were appliqued on the top layer. Jemma was able to change from the skirt at the ceremony to the trousers at the reception to party on 🍾
Wishing the newlyweds all the happiness in the world 🫶🏻

Tonights feature bride is Jane who is wearing a custom made DWB wedding dress 🤍
I just loved, loved, loved Jane’s dress! The uniqueness says it all - that is what a DWB made dress is all about 😍
Jane wanted colour, so I showed her some different laces and the chosen one was perfect with the ivory and n**e tones of the fabrics 👌🏼
A flattering, classic A-line silhouette with a lace up corset back, and lace that runs in a linear pattern ✨
Jane is looking to sell her gorgeous dress so if you’re interested, message me and I can put you in touch. I’m also happy to do alterations if needed - just give me a few months! 💕
Dress W3605 - the sample size is a 16 in ivory. This is a beautiful dress for the bride wanting the minimalist look. It is also available to order in white or black 🤍🖤 https://www.denisewright.com.au/dwb-gallery/w3605.html
