" Hi Katie!
I just wanted to thank you for your help on Saturday. I thought I was doing pretty well, until the car came around the corner and we saw everyone waiting at the Gazebo, then the nerves really hit. I felt very shaky, but you were so calm, and you explained what you were going to do with my dress/veil and kept me in place when my heart and mind were racing. The way you explained things so calmly, it wasn’t patronising or bossy, just gentle and thoughtful and focussed. I loved it.
Also - a recurring thought I had during the whole planning process was “this is my first rodeo”, as in, there’s just so much more that goes into it than you realise, and so many people expect you know what you’re doing. The way you came into the cellar door with us and perched on a stool, and listened as the MC asked us questions, and made such thoughtful suggestions and asked clarifying questions… I appreciate that more than you know…Also - thank you for picking up my veil that I left at the front gates; I really appreciate it! One of my uncles said “also, did you send someone to pick your veil up from out the front?” (He must have been prowling the perimeter during cocktail hour), and someone interjected, “oh don’t worry! Katie picked it up!”
So, thank you for helping us on the most overwhelming day of our lives! Neither Matt or I like crowds or attention, and you were a peaceful companion who was there just as we needed them…

Being by a bride’s side during those final moments before the walk down the aisle is a privilege I don't take for granted. I know how overwhelming "the first rodeo" can feel, and my goal is always to be that calm, grounding presence so you can actually soak in the magic of your day.
