Sleep well old man. May you be at peace with life and everything that was. RIP dad.

“You see,” began Christopher with a long sigh. “It’s like sleeping for a long, long time.”
But going to sleep means that some day you’ll wake up.” Pooh said with a smile.
“Precisely!” Owl exclaimed.
“And we’ll be here when you do,” Kanga added. “I’ll even make you breakfast.”
Christopher couldn’t help but smile.
“I would very much like that. But you all have to understand that it will be a very, very long time.”
“Oh ho ho! We are great at waiting a long time! Rabbit here waits every year for the carrots to grow in the garden.” Tigger chimed in.
“And every year you destroy them!” Rabbit snarled.
“But Christopher!” Roo interjected, jumping into Christopher’s lap. “What are we going to do when you’re gone?”
“Oh I won’t be gone Roo. I’ll be right here.”
Christopher placed his finger over Roo’s heart. Roo giggled and scrunched up into a ball.
“We’ll be just fine,” muttered Eeyore. “I’m used to being alone anyways.”
“None of you will be alone! You’re a family now, and while I’m gone you will all take care of each other.”
“B-b-b-ut you will b-b-be back r-r-right Christopher?” Stuttered Piglett.
“Sometimes good things come to an end. But here’s the secret everyone— come close!”
They all huddled together underneath the tree to listen to Christopher’s secret.
“Memories. Are. Forever.” He whispered and tapped Pooh on the nose.
“Memories?” Said Pooh. “Well I have plenty of those! Like that time we saved you from the Heffalumps!”

“Yes, yes! All of those are memories and you will have them forever. Just like I will have my memories of all of you.”
Christopher stood up and took one last look over the Hundred Acre Wood. The sun was setting in the orange autumn sky and the trees were beginning to lose their leaves.
It was time he went home.
Christopher gathered all of his friends together and began walking back down the hill. They were all busy discussing the memories they had had with each other.
“Christopher?” Pooh said, looking up at Christopher as they walked hand in hand. “You aren’t coming back, are you?”
Christopher looked down at the ground and took a moment before he responded.
“No Pooh. I won’t be coming back this time.”
Pooh suddenly stopped and looked intently into the ground.
“I believe I am going to miss you Christopher,” he said with a soft, broken voice.
Christopher leaned down and took his lifelong friend into his arms.
“I will miss you too Pooh. I will miss you very, very much.”

When you found true love, you often feel you can talk about anything with your partner. You can trust them with your deepest dreams, your hardest memories, and your biggest fears. When two people are genuinely in love, they are a team. They're two people that have come together and have decided to stand in unison. I am so lucky to have found my love… Truthfully I could talk about him all day and all night and still have a million more awesome things to say about him. Then again, to many words can become meaningless so I'm just gonna leave it at this- After all these years he still the most beautiful, wonderful and caring man that I've ever met. I couldn't imagine living life without him. to my Jake- Thank you for just being you. ❤️❤️❤️

One of the most beautiful things I’ve seen at a wedding is when the groomsmen and the groom walked mum and grandma down the isle. It was so beautiful to allow mum and nan to play a big part in the ceremony.

Today on her 57 birthday, we celebrated the life of Heather Elliott. With her 5 children, in laws, grandchildren and friends we had a small intimate ceremony at The Pakenham Cemetery. A few memories, some laughs and tears were shared. Candles were lit in her honour and we were surrounded by her fav colour purple. It was a special time and simply perfect. Happy Birthday Heather.

Smudging invites positive energy into our home. When you need to stop, clear your mind and refocus its a perfect time to burn some sage. Smudging can be done at the start of a wedding ceremony, to ‘cast’ a sacred circle or purify a ceremonial space.
A celebrant may offer a smudge to guests to cultivate a mindful presence in the group, or they may use the smoke to cleanse the space of negative energy and spirits. Smudging at the start of the ceremony is common practice at many Pagan weddings. As I work I love to listen to the music chosen for a ceremony and have my area smudged. Before I set up at a ceremony, smudging the area and saying my own little blessing before the guests arrive helps bring a relaxed energy to the day. “May this smoke cleanse their hearts so that they may be filled with compassion and gratitude.
May their hearts be in truth and grow in balance and joy.
May they walk in beauty, love, and grace.
May they walk with guidance on their life journey together.
May they stay grounded and be reminded how-to walk-in balance, joy, love and in harmony with one another all the days of their lives.” The Gift Haven

Some celebrants, like myself, do extra roles in their communities. I’ve been a volunteer firefighter for nearly 17 years. Im very very blessed on a hot day like today I can pack up my office and set it all out at the station. This morning I’ve cleaned the station, checked the trucks, responded to a fire call and completed another wedding ceremony script…. Im blessed to be able to support and love people in many roles.

I get asked alot “should we bring the children to the funeral”. When it comes to kids attending funerals, there’s no right or wrong thing to do.
According to the child mind institute they say “If you do decide to take your child to the funeral, set aside time to prepare her for the experience. Describe what it will be like. For example, you could say that a lot of people will be wearing darker colors. There’s going to be a service, and there will be a big wooden box with grandma inside of it. There will be time for people to go say goodbye or say a prayer, but you don’t need to if you don’t want to. It isn’t a place to run around and play, but we could bring the babysitter in case you want to go outside. The goal here is to prepare your child by explaining what to expect in developmentally appropriate language.”
So when it comes to prepare a funeral who was loved by many children- parent, grandparent, look into different funeral options.
The headline that got my attention the other day “Ditch the hearse, bring the kids, have a picnic”.
What an absolute perfect way to celebrate someone’s life. Is there a favourite camping spot, beach, or park that everyone could do just that- bring a blanket, some food, sit back, chat and share stories. If your loved one was cremated first you could set out a table, bring their ashes, and surround the urn with their favourite flowers, lovely photos and a book for all who joined the picnic to write a message in.
Have a celebrant that can just be in the back ground to guide everyone through favourite musics, special stories and little poems. Let the kids tell their stories about what they loved about this person. Put on some music in the back ground, and just enjoy the day with family and friends. Cry, laugh, hug and just share the love. Funerals can be what ever you want to be when celebrating the life of your loved one.

APPRECIATION POST ❤️. The ability to be loved. One day everyone will find their someone and ultimately they will find out who u really are. They'll figure out how you chew your food, how you sip your drink, how you dance, how you look first thing of a morning and how you smell at every point of the day. They'll figure out how much you love ice cream, how hyper you can be at times, how certain things make you happy, how your mood can change, how cranky you can be and how u will look in ur bum clothes.. And with all that they will still cherish you and all of you... They will embrace you, your friends and your family. They will welcome the good, the bad and the ugly, all because it’s apart of you. In the words of a great man- “All you need is love.” – Paul McCartney.

A special day should be whatever you want. I had the absolute please helping Steve and Tam plan their secret wedding on New Years Eve. We are apart of a camping group “Stripped Jocks Brigade”. After relaxing in the creek for the day, we decided afternoon cheese platters would be great. As we all sat around chatting and laughing Tam, Steve, and I stood up and began to the shock of our mates… It was a perfect way to end 2022. Thank you for choosing me be your celebrant.

“Don’t cry because it is over. Smile because it happened.” Celebration of life services have been gaining in popularity. These events are less formal than a traditional funeral. In fact, they often take place outside of a church or funeral home. During a celebration of life, the family members and friends share stories about the one who lived. There may be tears at these services, but hopefully, there would also be plenty of laughter. Encourage a unique dress code, choose happy funeral songs, and invite everyone to share a “happy time” story. Let’s celebrate your life and the love you bought to others.

Being a celebrant is more than weddings. To share a special ceremony for a child with the ones that love her is a blessing that as a celebrant I will always treasure. To hear the children laugh as they run around and play, as they are surrounded by everyone who loves them is simply the most perfect sound ever. Nothing beats helping a family treasure a child’s laughter. Thank you for choosing me to be there. I’ve completed the godparents certificates and prepared all that will be shared on the day. I cannot wait ❤️❤️
“I loved you from the very start,
You stole my breath, embraced my heart.
Our life together has just begun,
You're part of me my little one.”

Sitting on the plane I was writing a ceremony. I just couldn’t focus. I couldn’t find the right words. We had been traveling through rain clouds with a lot of turbulence. When we got through them I was greeted with this sight. Simply perfect. A reminder that no matter the type of storm we are traveling through, we need to stop, breathe and refocus because beauty and peace will follow. “The more often we see the things around us - even the beautiful and wonderful things - the more they become invisible to us. That is why we often take for granted the beauty of this world: the flowers, the trees, the birds, the clouds - even those we love.”
- Joseph B. Wirthlin.
