Who says planning events has to be stressful... or can't be fun? 😂

Turns out, this is what “carefully piecing an event together” has looked like lately.

An empty space, lots of ideas, a few coffees, meetings, scribbled floor plans and plenty of “what if we did this…” conversations.

Behind the scenes, I've been working with Barossa Valley Weddings to help bring the VIP experience at this year's Barossa Wedding Fair to life and we've been having a lot of fun doing it.

There are still plenty of details to work through before the Fair, but the pieces are definitely starting to come together.

And now that VIP tickets are officially on sale, I can finally start sharing a little more of what we've been working on. 💗

Can't wait to see this empty space looking VERY different in November!

Good events don't just come together. They're carefully pieced together.

Venue. Budget. Suppliers. Food. Styling. Timings. Guest experience... there can be a LOT to think about when you're planning an event.

But planning with confidence doesn't mean having every answer from the beginning.

It's knowing what needs to happen next.

One decision leads to another, the pieces gradually start falling into place and eventually that original idea becomes an event ready to welcome guests.

That's the difference a good planning process can make. 🩷

Building your business yourself doesn’t mean you have to do it alone. 💗

Being a solopreneur can sometimes feel a little isolating. You’re making the decisions, wearing all the hats and figuring things out as you go.

That’s exactly why the Solopreneur Sip & Connect event exists.

A relaxed evening to step away from the laptop, meet other solopreneurs, build genuine connections and chat with people who understand the wins, the challenges and everything in between.

No awkward networking. No sales pitches. Just good conversations with good people who get it. Oh...and don't forget food, drinks and a good laugh.

If you’ve been thinking about coming along, consider this your reminder to grab your ticket. 🥂

Thursday, 3rd September
6pm to 8pm
AMBRA, Thebarton

Come and join myself and Bec Alison for a fun evening.

What does a successful event actually look like?

For this one, it looked like a room full of people coming together to celebrate an incredible achievement. 🩷

It looked like conversations happening around the room, guests enjoying themselves and, most importantly, my client being able to spend the evening mingling with the people who had come to celebrate her and the launch of her book.

Behind the scenes, I was keeping an eye on the timings, welcoming guests and making sure everything we'd planned came together as it should.

Because for me, a successful event isn't just about everything running to schedule.

It's about creating an experience that allows the host to actually be part of it.

And this one was pretty special to watch come to life.

You don't need to become an event planner just because you want to host an event.

A client recently told me how much easier planning her book launch had felt simply because she had someone there to support her and take care of much of the heavy lifting behind the scenes.

And that's exactly why I love what I do.

While I took care of the timelines, suppliers, styling, guest experience and all those little details, she could focus on what mattered most. Celebrating the launch of her book.

And on the night? She got to mingle with her guests and actually enjoy the event, while I welcomed guests, kept an eye on the details and made sure everything ran to schedule.

Because when you're hosting an event, you should actually get to be part of it too.

If you've been sitting on an event idea because the planning feels overwhelming, you don't have to do it all yourself.

I'd love to help you bring it to life.

What a fun week it’s been! 💕

Enjoying the scenery of the Barossa after the rain, planning book launches and helping clients celebrate their successes, spending time with some pretty awesome people… and planning something exciting for the upcoming Barossa Bridal Fair.

Some weeks really don’t feel like work. 😊

Feeling very lucky to be doing something I genuinely love.

This is pretty much how I approach every event I plan.

Break it down. Work out what needs attention first. Then move on to the next thing.

Because when you're planning an event, it's very easy to look at everything that needs to happen and feel like it all needs to happen now.

Venue. Suppliers. Catering. AV. Guest lists. Styling. Timings. Marketing.

It doesn't.

After more than 20 years working in events, one of the things I've learnt is that good planning isn't about trying to tackle everything at once.

It's about putting decisions in the right order.

What needs my attention now?
What does that decision unlock?
What can wait?

Break the event down. Give each step a timeframe. Make the next decision.

Then move forward from there.

Whether you're planning a business event, celebration or wedding, you don't need to have the entire event figured out today.

You just need to know what you're doing next.

Planning an event can very quickly turn into one VERY long to-do list.

And when everything feels important, it's hard to know where to start.

The good news?

You don't need to plan everything at once.

You need to know:

→ What needs to happen now
→ What needs to happen next
→ What can wait

Whether you're planning a business event, a celebration or a wedding, some decisions naturally need to happen before others.

That's why I'm such a big believer in having a clear planning timeline rather than one enormous list.

Because planning with confidence isn't about having everything figured out.

It's about knowing what your next step is.

And suddenly the whole thing feels a lot more manageable.
