Attending a recent event at the MCG was a great reminder that it’s far more than just an iconic stadium. The venue offers flexibility and options of function spaces with amazing food. From our arrival until the last round of drinks the MCG delivered an amazing day showcasing the venue and its capabilities.

The menu throughout the day was fresh, well-presented, and thoughtfully curated, it all felt considered and high quality beyond the typical stadium expectations.

The function spaces are thoughtfully designed—modern, flexible, and framed by views of the ground that instantly elevate the atmosphere of any event. We also had the opportunity to access areas such as media and change room facilities.

It’s a venue that quietly delivers on all fronts—capability, atmosphere, and service—making it an easy choice for events that want to feel both effortless and memorable.

The theme “Do It Different” was brought to life by a lineup of engaging speakers who shared honest and personal experiences. Including but not limited to Cam McEvoy, Dale Thomas and Jen Watt who all shared their journeys offering practical takeaways making the sessions both inspiring and genuinely impactful.

IMEX Frankfurt this year felt even more focused on the value of connection.

Kicking off with Association Focus on Monday, the sessions were engaging, insightful, and delivered genuinely useful takeaways. It was a strong reminder of the importance of being in the room with the right people — and stepping out of the day-to-day to be part of conversations that challenge your thinking. It set the tone for a few days of meaningful meetings and purposeful networking.

Across the show days, it was fantastic to reconnect with partners I’ve built relationships with over time, while also meeting new suppliers already sparking ideas for future collaboration. Some of the most valuable moments came from unplanned conversations that naturally evolved into something more meaningful. What stood out most wasn’t just the number of meetings, but the quality of the discussions.

Beyond the exhibition floor, the social functions created space to continue those conversations more organically — the kind of informal moments that turn introductions into real connections, and that you simply can’t replicate elsewhere.

Grateful for the time, the conversations, and the outcomes of the week. I feel appreciative of the people I’ve connected with, and excited about what comes next.

If you’re planning your next event and need the knowledge and expertise to bring it to life reach out to us where we are more than happy to discuss and make it happen for you.

What an energising few days in Auckland attending IAPCO Edge!
It was great to reconnect with familiar faces along with meeting new ones and building relationships with so many passionate industry colleagues. The intimate size of the program created the perfect environment for open conversations, shared experiences, and genuine connection.
A special mention goes to the presenters including Stephen Noble, Jan Tonkin and Mathias Posch for sharing their insights, knowledge and stories. With honest and open dialogue in the room among the attendees it created a collaborative platform for all.
Beyond the sessions the social program also showcased some of the places of interest in Auckland. We enjoyed dinner at the Auckland Art Gallery, sailing on the America’s Cup yacht and lunch on the harbour while on a luxury yacht with each experience reminding me of how fortunate we are. The few days were about learning, sharing and connections.
Feeling inspired, grateful, and energised for what’s ahead.

Last night’s invitation from Experience Gold Coast to their networking dinner was a wonderfully relaxed gathering of industry professionals at Hazel Restaurant. It was a great opportunity for event organisers and suppliers to connect, exchange ideas, and enjoy open and honest conversations.

Events like these are a reminder of just how valuable our industry is. They highlight the power of face to face connection and the relationships that grow from genuine interactions. It was a pleasure to meet new people and reconnect with familiar ones.

The evening brought together a diverse mix of local professional conference organisers and suppliers from the Gold Coast, each with their own story and perspective. With no formal agenda or presentations — just good food, good wine and great conversation — it was a simple reminder that the relationships forged at these gatherings often become the foundation for future collaborations.

A warm thanks to the team at Experience Gold Coast for hosting such an enjoyable evening and bringing everyone together. It was a real pleasure to be part of it.

Visiting Movieworld and Seaworld outside public hours was a real privilege. It offered a rare chance to see how these venues can transform for conferences, themed dinners and incentive events — and I was genuinely impressed.

At Movieworld, we were welcomed by Bugs Bunny himself for a relaxed reception. The food throughout the evening was excellent, and the various spaces showed great versatility for different event styles.

Seaworld offered an equally memorable experience. A calm morning greeting from the dolphins set the tone before we toured the park and viewed the accommodation options as well as the many flexible conference spaces, finishing with a fresh and healthy lunch at the Conference Centre.

Both venues demonstrated they can adapt beautifully to a wide range of event briefs.

If you’re considering the Gold Coast for an upcoming event and would like some insight or guidance, feel free to reach out.

A warm thank you to the team for hosting AC Events Management & Consultancy and showcasing your venues.
