This sweet couple left me the below review, which was so beautifully detailed that I couldn’t even fit every word of it into this caption—

“We booked our celebrant first! Well, technically, we made sure our wedding date worked for Brittany. Why? My sister-in-law had attended a wedding where Brittany was the celebrant and came home saying she was absolutely perfect — and that if there was anyone who should be our celebrant, it had to be her. I can wholeheartedly say that it was one of the best decisions we made. We didn’t even consider anyone else.

From our very first contact, Brittany was so warm, enthusiastic and genuinely excited to be part of our journey, which immediately made us feel so special. She was always accessible and made herself available for every question. Our meetings with her were so informative, and it was clear that she genuinely cared about getting to know us and telling our story as authentically as possible. The level of detail in the questions she asked was so intentional, and she captured our love story in a way that felt incredibly personal to us.

On the day, Brittany spoke about our love story so beautifully that I almost couldn’t believe she was talking about us. She had perfectly encapsulated our journey while also making us feel like we were truly living out our own fairytale. She also helped calm all of my nerves and came to see us before the ceremony to go over all the legal aspects, collect our rings and answer any last-minute questions. Nothing was ever a bother, and she made the whole experience feel so easy and reassuring.

Afterwards, so many of our guests commented on how amazing Brittany was. Everyone noticed her incredibly calming presence, and you could tell just how much she truly loves what she does through the passion and care she puts into every ceremony…

My husband and I are forever grateful to Brittany. As my mum said, choosing who you want to officiate your ceremony is so important because they play such a special role in setting the feeling for the entire day. Brittany could not have been more perfect for how we wanted our wedding to feel…” 😭

Ceremony to Reception. Perfection.

I can’t wait to be back at this extra special venue tomorrow as Celebrant and MC, and spending cocktail hour creating a “Cin Cin” video guestbook— this time for Joss and Jack.

And I’ve just received this lovely review from Chris and Em, another beautiful couple that I had the honour of marrying in this stunning space just a few weeks ago:

“Britt is nothing short of phenomenal! She is so passionate about what she does and it shines through in every aspect of her work.

Throughout the entire process, we truly felt as though we were the only couple she was working with. She made us feel completely at ease and from the very beginning we knew we were in the best hands.

We had so many compliments on our ceremony, and even our guests noticed the small, thoughtful details Britt wove throughout the day. We genuinely only had to write our vows and show up, she had everything else covered!

Aside from having a genuinely experienced, aligned vendor team, here are 10 things that will enhance your civil ceremony, from someone who’s been a Celebrant for 10 years—

UNO / Welcome drinks, particularly if you’ve invited your guests to arrive earlier than the ceremony start time.

DUE / Live musicians.

TRE / A wishing well at the ceremony, so your guests can drop their cards off early. (However, skip this if your ceremony and reception are in separate locations, as guests may leave their cards in their cars or rooms expecting to deliver them later.)

QUATTRO / Reserved seating signs (and, better yet, a seat for every guest).

CINQUE / Incorporating cultural traditions.

SEI / A solid Plan B for unfavourable weather (which doesn’t just mean rain, but also extreme heat and strong winds) that, where needed, is committed to at least a few hours before guests are set to arrive. That said, there is no foolproof way to predict the weather, and the unexpected can happen, sometimes even mid-ceremony, so you just need to have the right people around you to help navigate it.

SETTE / Asking your guests to switch off their phones for the duration of the ceremony.

OTTO / Tying up the formalities in a perfect little bow before the recessional. The register signing is one of the few compulsory parts of your day and, when it’s coordinated well and where space permits, it can be seamlessly incorporated into the rest of the ceremony (rather than being an awkward lull before your exit). I could do a whole separate post on this!

NOVE / A petal toss. I prioritise joy in my ceremonies, and this simple inclusion absolutely adds to the surreal, once-in-a-lifetime atmosphere that I seek to cultivate for each and every couple.

DEICI / I’ll end with this, because I think a lot of people would expect me to say personal vows are a must— while personal vows are extremely special when they’re written by two people who genuinely want to share them with their guests, they’re not essential. Especially with the way I curate my highly personalised ceremonies, they can absolutely be skipped without compromising the ceremony. If you don’t want to include them, don’t. 💘

My Amy & Blake, on their perfect Krinklewood Estate day. If I had to encapsulate this wedding in just one word, “joy” instantly comes to mind. The focus was on the feeling, and it was truly divine.

I’m so thankful to have been part of it alongside a wonderful bunch of vendors, and also to have received this lovely review from the bride & groom—

“We are so grateful to have had Brittany as our celebrant - she was amazing from start to finish. She’s incredibly relaxed, down to earth, and so informative when it comes to planning your ceremony, which in turn made us feel completely at ease and confident throughout the whole process.

Honestly, I felt like she would have planned the entire wedding for me if I asked! She’s so knowledgeable about the industry and gave us some great vendor recommendations along the way.

When it came to writing our vows, she made the process so easy - helping tweak wording here and there to make what we’d written sound even more beautiful while still keeping it true to us.

You need a marriage to be married, but you don’t need a wedding to be wed.

If you want to have your cake and eat it too, I offer a modern, memorable alternative to a registry marriage that feels just as effortless, yet far more refined and entirely your own.

Over the past decade, I’ve worked quietly alongside many couples who chose to be married in private, with a Celebrant who felt like a friend and just two other witnesses— at their favourite restaurant or vineyard (e.g. as pictured), by the sea, at City Hall, in the comfort of their own home, and even at the gate before heading off on a trip around the world together.

I can have you two legally married in under a minute, but you’re more than welcome to exchange personal vows and rings to add more intention and meaning to the moment— at the location of your choosing.
