STRIKE EVENTS contribute to Melbourne's vibrant music scene by showcasing new and upcoming talent through “Melbourne Lyric,” a singer/songwriter competition. STRIKE EVENTS supports the Melbourne Theatre scene by hosting “Broadway Stars,” which caters for musical theatre performers. STRIKE EVENTS is proud to develop and educate through various workshops that cover all facets of the music and arts i

ndustry. It fosters people at all skill sets from beginners to advanced. Operating under the banner of Playback Group, STRIKE EVENTS is available for all your event needs, from planning to execution.

WHAT AN AMAZING NIGHT !
Fourteen brilliant contestants who battled it out for the title of the next Broadway Star.

Congratulations to John Molden for receiving 1st place with the winning song "Betrayed" from the Producers and Oliver Mordaunt for being runner up with his emotive performance of "Corner of The Sky" from Pippin.

Special thanks to the judges, Joanne, Mena and Silvie Paladino and to the team at Playback Audio.

THE RESULTS ARE IN; MELBOURNE LYRIC
We are so thrilled with the artistry, professionalism and warmth that all of our finalists displayed throughout the night. Our audience were completely entertained from start to finish as each act took to the stage performing their original songs.

Congratulations to Jo Murgatroyd for winning Melbourne Lyric 2017 also to Yellow Castle as our runners up and to all of our finalists for inspiring us through out the night. A big thank you to our judges Minna Ikonen, James Minas and Stephen O'Prey.
