After a lovely, quiet January resting up, it's right back into things with a fun gig taking a team from Trash Puppets down to Ballarat for the Ballarat Begonia Festival

It all started this week with the Launch and the 3 day festival in early March will feature multiple performances of our "Trash Puppets Live" family show; rolling Trash puppet making workshops; and roving puppeteers around the event. And it's all free, which we love!

As a Ballarat girl originally, and one that has being staying down there a lot recently, I am so proud of the stunning gardens and lake precinct where the festival will take place. It's just beautiful.😊

I am also thrilled to be working with the fabulous Events team from Ballarat Council who are organising one of the biggest and most creative and environmentally friendly Council events I have been part of.

With my background in local government arts and events for well over a decade, I understand just how much work, time and money go into Council events of this size.

Bring on March 8-10!!

We have had quite a few gigs this week for Children's Week (this one is sold out now).

I love working with Councils, as they often are able to make our shows and workshops free, which means everyone can join in.

It was really great to work as an Consultant on the Reference Group that developed this Tool Kit with the Victorian Equal Opportunity and Human Rights Commission.

Whilst it can be difficult for small businesses to find the time to have strong policies and procedures in place, pay equality is important, in the arts and all industries.

Very Exciting Week Ahead for the Trash Puppets Team 😁

Final rehearsals today for our big week of school holiday shows ahead, for our brilliant "Trash with a Porpoise" team. 😊

Our show at Gasworks Arts Park tomorrow is almost sold out, with only 1 ticket left! 😳

We love this venue and its amazing team so much, and can't wait to get back into the space tomorrow morning. ❤

Then its on to Fed Square on Tuesday and Wednesday for their wonderful RESET program, where we will be presenting 2 shows each day in The Edge at 10am and 1pm. 😁

These shows are FREE and we also have free puppet making in The Atrium from 10.30-3.30pm, so we are looking forward to trashing their space. 😝

Sending a huge thank you to City Of Port Phillip for funding the remount of this show, through their Cultural Development Fund.
