Well, this is awkward.
I’ve thought long and hard about saying something publicly, but I need to clear up some confusion as we’ve received a lot of messages about this over the last couple of months.
The current — and quite the mouthful — “Over 30s Ladies Only Welcome 2000’s Downstairs DAYCLUB” being advertised by The Deck in Frankston is not to be confused with our Over 30s / Girls Exclusive DAYCLUB events, and it is not a Timewarp Entertainment production.
We are not involved with it.
After seeing the success of DAYCLUB-style events in the UK, we approached The Deck about bringing that kind of experience to Frankston.
At the time, we were told they didn’t think it would work. We were given the opportunity to try it because it was during a time slot where the downstairs bar wasn’t even open.
We then created, promoted and ran our DAYCLUB events there, selling 750+ tickets across the three events, building that audience from scratch and generating tens of thousands of dollars in revenue for the venue in the process.
After proving the concept, we were told the event had “run its course” at the venue.
So while we’re obviously flattered that the event made enough of an impact to be continued without us, it does leave a bad taste to now see the venue promoting a very similar DAYCLUB event using images from our events, similar wording as if it was copy and pasted and slightly altered, and sell-out messaging connected to the success of the events we built.
All of the event photos posted by The Deck yesterday are from previous DAYCLUB events we created and ran there — including images where our DAYCLUB branding is visible in the background. 😬
It is also disappointing that previous tags and links back to Timewarp Entertainment appear to have been removed shortly before this new event was announced.
Throughout the time we operated DAYCLUB events at The Deck, we respected the venue’s expectations around exclusivity in the area.
In fact, when we ran a separate Beach Party event at another Frankston venue with a different name, different branding and a different vibe, we were given a pretty stern warning about running anything similar nearby.
We don’t want customers confused into thinking this new event is connected to us.
Official Timewarp Entertainment / DAYCLUB / Girls Go Off events will only ever be announced through our own pages and ticket links.
And if you’re interested in attending the event you see in the images The Deck posted yesterday — we’re doing it all again at Side Street Mordialloc tomorrow from 3pm with DJ Holly-J.

If your heart is set on The Deck’s new and totally unique DAYCLUB event, that’s completely your choice and we don’t want to tell anyone where to dance.
We just wanted to make it clear which DAYCLUB events are officially Timewarp Entertainment productions, and which ones are just using photos from Timewarp Entertainment shows.
