Do you know why Tipsy Hill is named Tipsy Hill?

The property also includes a stunning garden, featuring the rare Tipsy Hill Imperial Concubine rose, from which the name originates…🌹

It’s name is from a 6th century Chinese tea rose planted in the gardens – Rosa Tipsy Imperial Concubine. The rose – named after one of the Four Beauties of Ancient China, Yang Guifei – was so named because the pale pink blooms and alluring fragrance of the rose are said to have made her feel light-headed or tipsy.

The Tipsy Hill vineyard also produces our Pertaringa Tipsy Hill Cabernet Sauvignon 🍷

While the vines at Tipsy Hill take their well-earned winter rest 🌿❄️, the vineyard is anything but asleep.

This is a time of quiet beauty - misty mornings, crisp air, and peaceful rows of bare vines preparing for the vibrant season ahead.

Winter may look still, but underground, the magic continues 🌱✨

Just another day at the office… sharing it with some very fluffy coworkers at our Tipsy Hill vineyard! Say hi to the sheep! 🐑

Did you know sheep grazing in winter and spring reduces the need for herbicides and fertilisers to improve soil health. Plus, beetles from sheep dung burrow down below the surface, taking nutrients with them. Sheep grazing also reduces the use of fuel and greenhouse gas emissions from running a tractor down the vines!
