PGFC AGM 2026 🎣

Our Annual General Meeting is coming up, and all PGFC members are encouraged to come along.

The AGM is our chance to wrap up the year, reflect on what the club has achieved, hear the annual reports, and look ahead to the next 12 months.

It’s also when committee positions are filled, so if you’ve thought about getting more involved in the club, this is a good opportunity to put your hand up or simply come along and find out more.

Corroboree Park Challenge is on this weekend, and before we get underway, we want to say a big thank you to Lee and Emma.

After this years event, they’ll be stepping away from their roles as CPC Coordinators for 2027.

Lee and Emma have put a huge amount of time and effort into helping organise and deliver CPC, and we’re very grateful for everything they’ve contributed behind the scenes.

With this year’s event happening this weekend, it’s also a great opportunity for anyone who might be interested in taking on the Coordinator role in 2027 to see CPC in action and have a chat with them about what’s involved.

We’re putting out an informal Expression of Interest for anyone who may be keen to take it on next year.

You don’t need to know everything from day one. Lee and Emma are very happy to provide a handover, talk through the planning process and show the next person how the event comes together behind the scenes.

If you’re interested, curious, or just want to know a little more, have a chat with Lee or Emma over the weekend or send us a message through the page.

🎣 SEPTEMBER SPECIES CHALLENGE — HOW ARE YOU TRACKING?

We’re into the final stretch of the month, so it’s time to check what’s still missing from your list.

Remember, every eligible catch needs:
• a glory photo with the angler and fish
• a clear measure photo showing the full fish and length
• a stubby cooler visible in every measure photo
• to be uploaded to the September Species Challenge event in the PGFC Mobile App

The goal is all 10 target species by 30 September.

If nobody catches all 10, the winner will be the angler who catches the highest number of different target species. If there’s a tie, combined length will decide it.

Two coordinators. One fishing club. 37 events.

Emma and Leeanne put CPC together with the Palmerston Game Fishing Club and a crew of volunteers who give up their weekends because they care about Territory fishing. No paid staff. Just people who've been showing up for a long time and want to keep it going.

If you've ever volunteered at CPC — set up, safety check on the water, handed out prizes after a long day — this one's for you. And if you want to be part of the crew for 2026, get in touch.
