I forgot something important! I planned my son’s birthday down to the smallest detail... and yet still, I missed something crucial 🎈

Yesterday we celebrated my son’s third birthday.

The balloons were done.
The cake was ready.
The party bags were packed.
The food was organised.

At 2:30am, while tying the very last balloon, I finally stopped and pictured the day ahead.

I imagined welcoming everyone at the door. Watching my son’s excitement. Standing beside him at cake time. Handing out the party bags together. Soaking it all in.

Then the party happened.

And the next day I realised...

I didn’t welcome a single guest through my own front door.

Not one.

I’d been so busy making sure everything was happening that I rushed through some of the moments I’d most wanted to experience.

And it made me realise something.

We plan the cake.
We plan the decorations.
We plan the entertainment.
We plan the food.

But sometimes we forget to plan space to actually be there.

So I wrote down the little checklist I wish I’d made before the party.

Not another birthday party checklist for things to buy.

A checklist for the moments I don’t want to miss next time. 💜

🎈 ELC Open Day in Beaumaris! 🎈

We loved popping into the brand new Shared Beginnings Early Learning Centre to help celebrate their Open Day. Such a warm, friendly team and such a beautiful new space for little learners. 💛✨

Fezzie kicked things off by twisting premium balloon designs for all the wonderful staff first (because who doesn’t want a balloon at work? 😄🎈) and Kat added extra sparkle with face painting that had everyone smiling.

Wishing Shared Beginnings all the very best as they open their doors to Beaumaris families. 🫶
