We’re pleased to share that Glenn continues to recover in hospital and is in good spirits. Glenn, his family, and the Paul Bennet Airshows family are all incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support, kind messages, and well wishes received over the past few weeks.

Glenn has thrilled audiences across Australia, flying for many years at airshows as part of the Sky Aces team and behind the controls of historic warbirds. Glenn is more than a pilot - he is a father, a long-time friend, and has no doubt inspired thousands with his passion for aviation. And so, Glenn's family and the Paul Bennet Airshows team have decided to launch a GoFundMe campaign to rally the aviation community, fans, and friends who wish to help support his recovery.

National Kawasaki Disease Day 26/1

Kawasaki disease is relatively uncommon and mostly affects children under 5 but can also occur in older children. It causes inflammation of the blood vessels including but not limited to those of the heart. It starts with a high fever that usually doesn’t respond to paracetamol or ibuprofen.

As most of you celebrate Australia Day our little family are celebrating having our son healthy and home after a very scary Christmas new years period.

He bacame unwell on Christmas Eve with a mild fever and got progressively worse into Christmas Day. He was prescribed antibiotics on Christmas Day but continued to get worse with continued fevers and swelling of the fingers, hands, feet and knees which was accompanied but a red blotchy rash and strawberry coloured lips and tongue.

We took him to the emergency department where the dr told us he suspected Kawasaki Disease but had to rule out viral or bacterial infections because there is no specific test for Kawasaki Disease. Once the viral and bacterial test came back negative he received an immunoglobulin infusion (which was quite possibly one of the most stressful parts of the whole process for us). His body reacted almost immediately and with his ever finally breaking.

We are beyond thankful to all the Doctors and Nurses in the paediatric department in Maitland hospital!
