Here's the finished piece, plus a close-up of the flowers once they're placed. This was a big one, and bigger pieces come with their own challenges.

In case you're wondering how I plan the design — I use a photo from the day as inspiration, then I start with the stems and the outside pieces to give me the size I need, then fill the centre as I go, closing gaps until it all comes together. I don't usually work to a fixed plan, because the flowers never sit exactly as they start — they move and bend naturally, so you have to go with the flow.

A little side project to Alaina's frame - her mum asked if I could do something with the faux flowers from the venue styling and the cream roses that were arranged on the wedding cake.

The roses were real and preserved beautifully in the silica. I arranged them alongside the faux blooms into this small cloche dome with Alaina's ribbon at the base.

A lovely extra keepsake from the day. Oh so pretty 🌸💗

Thanks to Bernadette, the bride's mum for finding me and trusting me to preserve Alaina's bouquet. It has to be one of my favourite finished pieces so far. It's lovely working with colour!

Well done for saving the buttonhole too - these often don't last past the wedding day but we love this one tucked in alongside the bouquet.
