New figures from the Department of Home Affairs have revealed the scale of unlawful visa cases currently in Australia.
More than 77,000 people are reportedly living in Australia without valid visas, including cancelled visas, visa overstayers and individuals awaiting immigration status outcomes.
Reports also show that around 25,000 people have remained in the country for more than a decade.
Visa compliance and lawful status continue to remain an important part of Australiaโs migration system.
