Annual Christmas Celebration at Currumbin Waters on the Gold Coast.

Awesome to see so many people come together to celebrate the festive season at the Currumbin Christmas Carols 2024. While it wasn’t the date or venue we had originally planned, it was great to still be able to come together as a community before the Christmas break and share in some carols, live music, food, and fun times with friends and family.

Special thanks to Cr Gail O'Neill - Division 14, City of Gold Coast for hosting this free event for the community, to event supporter Laura Ge**er MP, and the supporting groups, performers, and local businesses.

🎉 TODAY'S THE DAY! 🎄
Looking forward to an awesome evening celebrating Christmas at the Currumbin Christmas Carols 2024 today! Come on down and join in the free festive fun at Merv Craig Park (Currumbin Eagles RLFC - 26 Galleon Way, Currumbin Waters) from 5:30pm.

Special thanks to Division 14 Councillor Gail O'Neill - City of Gold Coast for hosting this free event for the community!

️⛅ WEATHER:
Pleasant with sunshine. It’s a good idea to slip, slop, slap, seek and slide. Best to dress for the weather conditions on the day, and come down ready to support the local groups, performers and stallholders!

🪑WHAT TO BRING:
While the weather is dry, the grass areas remain wet and under repair. The main stage, market stalls, and activities will be held in the car park and surrounding area so bring camping chairs and other items to assist.

🅿️🚕 TRAVEL
This is a local event for the local community so we encourage attendees to walk/scooter/bike to the event area. There is limited car parking on nearby side streets so please use public transport or ride share if active travel is not possible. In the interest of community safety and to avoid parking infringements, please follow the City Parking Signage and Guidelines.

🛑❌ SOCIALS - TICKETS & STREAMING:
It's a FREE EVENT. Tickets are not required and there is no live stream so please be aware of clicking on fake links, or communicating with other user accounts other than the event organiser official account.

**CHANGE OF VENUE** Following a site inspection today by the safety team, unfortunately we're unable to hold the 2024 Currumbin Christmas Carols at Galleon Park due to the very recent heavy rainfall and flooded grounds.

However, thanks to Councillor Gail O'Neill, City Officers, and the Currumbin Eagles RLFC all working behind the scenes - we have secured another venue to use directly across the road at MERV CRAIG PARK at 26 Galleon Way, Currumbin Waters.

It will look a little different than normal but means the event can go ahead, and we can still gather as a community to celebrate Christmas in Currumbin, alongside the many groups, schools and local businesses.

With the new event date and availability of some suppliers and performers - a new runsheet has been released for the postponed Currumbin Christmas Carols 2024 - now this Sunday 22nd December from 5:30pm! We hope you can join us in this free fun festive celebration! 🎄🤗 ❤️

NEW DATE! Unfortunately the heavy wet weather over the last 48hours has led to a waterlogged venue and we cant go ahead as planned this Monday *sadface*. We have though re-scheduled to a NEW DATE – this Sunday 22nd December 2024!

This will hopefully allow Galleon Park some time to dry out and give us another opportunity for our performers and the community to gather and celebrate Christmas in Currumbin! New details and performance times to be announced in due course.

Unless you're arriving by sleigh 😉, we highly recommend that attendees use active travel to Currumbin Chirstmas Carols 2024. 🎄 Parking is limited around the venue and on nearby streets, so we encourage everyone to consider using public transport or ride-sharing when possible.

The annual 🎄 Currumbin Community Christmas Carols 🎶 will convert the popular Galleon Park into a 🆓 free festive celebration on Monday 16 December 2024!

The event will commence at 5:30pm, featuring fun area entertainment 🎆 and live stage performances 🎭 until 8pm. Plus, the big man in the red suit – Santa 🎅 – and a spectacular laser light show! 🌟👀

Hosted by Division 14 Councillor Gail O'Neill, City of Gold Coast, there will also be heaps of festive food trucks 🍔🍕🍱🚚 and attractions throughout! Bring the family along and be prepared to sing and dance!
