The 2026 REIACT Awards was a night to remember…

Sidestage delivered full event production for this stunning celebration of Canberra’s real estate industry, hosted at the National Convention Centre Canberra.

Our team brought the room to life with a complete production package spanning lighting, audio, LED, cameras and staging and show control, transforming the space from arrival through to the final award.

The night kicked off with an epic reveal moment that completely changed the look of the room in seconds and set the tone for what was to come.

And yes… you need to see the last photo. We promise it’s real.

A huge shoutout to our friends at Imagine Events for the incredible styling, and to Real Estate Institute of the ACT (REIACT) for having Sidestage onboard once again.

Well it’s been delivery after delivery at Sidestage, it seems new gear is arriving everyday lately. Our audio stock has been bolstered with a Allen & Heath dLive C3500, along with Dante IO and stagebox, plus ME-1 personal mixers. We’ve also added more Shure ULXD systems and DPA headset microphones.

Science powered rigging 🧬

Recently, we were engaged by Questacon to design and install a temporary rigging solution for three large inflatable sculptures suspended inside their main gallery space, over 16 metres above the floor.

There wasn’t an off-the-shelf solution, and after our site inspection it was determined that a truss grid would be the only way to meet the specific requirements of the exhibition.

Our solution centred around a temporary motorised truss grid that allowed each sculpture to be installed safely at working height before being progressively lifted into its final position. Once everything was exactly where it needed to be, the system was transferred onto permanent support points.

These are the projects we love, where technical knowledge, planning and practical problem solving come together.

A huge thank you to the Questacon team for trusting us with the unique project, and to The Inflatable Co for working alongside us throughout the planning and installation process.

Sydney Opera House. One for the books.

We had the privilege of working at Sydney Opera House this month for international artist Javed Ali and the tour ‘Rafi Aur Main’.

Sidestage provided a lighting package, LED screen and camera package, as well as an dLive console package for both front of house and monitors.

To say this venue is breathtaking is an understatement, though it was the SOH staff who really made it special. If you’ve been on tour you’ll know just how much of a difference a great in-house team can make. We are on a tight deadline to get gear up in the air, ready for soundcheck, and at every opportunity the SOH team supported ours. There are some great people in our industry and a good number of them work here.

Thank you to our client for trusting us in one of the world’s most iconic venues, and to our hardworking crew who absolutely nailed the brief.
