Some things to consider when weighing up whether to have live music for your ceremony. My answer is always YES mainly for the atmosphere it creates but it depends what is important to you 🎶

ALARNAH + SAM 🥀

It started with a ‘Hey, how are you?’, a DM dropped mid-December. Before Sam ghosted her for two weeks – a fact he doesn’t remember.

But Alarnah clocked this red flag, and before she got too deep, she did a stealthy background check, to make sure Sam wasn’t a creep.

One Radford connection later, she’d gathered all the facts. This guy, Sam – he checked out, so she agreed to interact.

He picked her up from Lawson, in his noble family ride. And they got Grill’d delivered, and cozied up inside.

They chatted on the couch, no fancy restaurants in tow. Just two people vibing, and one driveway-parking show.

You see, Sam struggled to reverse, in Lawson’s tight car-park hell. Since then, Alarnah’s done most driving, and honestly, it’s worked out well.

Their next date was outdoorsy, in peak January heat. Sam suggested a Mount Painter climb, as a ‘casual morning treat’.

Armed with hot coffee, under thirty-four-degree sun, they hiked and they panted, and they nearly came undone.

She was crimson red, he was dripping in sweat.
But they still laugh about it today - an iconic date - zero ragrets.

From there, it all flowed naturally, no big ‘Are we official?’ chat. Everything just clicked into place, and both were thrilled with that ❤️

A big mistake couples make is requesting an unplugged ceremony but then not having a videographer. This part of the day is so special and photos are fab, but you will definitely want to remember the words that were spoken. It goes by in a such a blur!!

SIMONE + NICK 💘

[Requested vibe: relaxed, fun, personable]

It was the 20th of May in 2018. The first day on the job, nerves high yet unseen.

Two brand-new interns, fresh-faced and alert. Living out their paramedic dreams in brand-new uniform shirts.

Now Simone, all friendly, was really trying her best, to chat through her nerves, and help ease the stress.

‘So, you’re from Hobart?’ she said ‘I’ve got a friend there too!’ Nick shot back: ‘Tassie’s not that small. Your friend?? I’ve no clue!’

Simone thought, ‘Well, that was quite ‘Smuggins’ and abrupt from Nick. And she wrote him off quickly, as being a huge dick!

But lucky for us all, first impressions don’t last. The ‘rude Tassie boy’ persona faded into the past.

For in the weeks after, Simone’s view did transform. She discovered Nick was actually charismatic, witty, warm.

He’d crack a sharp joke and the whole room would laugh. She got it wrong – not a dick! But real funny smart ass!

Now, Nick clocked Simone too. He thought her clever, outgoing, and fun. And when his sister asked who stood out? Well, Simone was the one.

They quickly went from colleagues on shift, to hearts intertwined. A perfect response rate. Two vitals aligned. 📈❤️

Children at weddings is equal parts gorgeous and chaotic, and worth thinking through.

There’s no right or wrong, it just comes down to what suits your people, your vibe, and the kind of day you want to curate.

Here are a few pros and cons to help you weigh it up… what did I miss peoples?
