McLeod’s Angels were honoured to provide catering services for the Gugan Galwun new building opening last month, marking a significant occasion. The community event proved to be a resplendent celebration of the organisation’s history and future.

The menu featured hot food items, including coconut and lemon grass chicken curry with rice, buffalo chicken wings with ranch dipping sauce, quiches, mini beef pies, mini beef sausage rolls, vegan sausage rolls, and dipping sauces.

A tea and coffee station was also available, offering apple and orange juices. Popular menu items included individual charcuterie cups, an assortment of sweet treats, individual yoghurt with granola and apple compote cups, fairy bread, seasonal fruit cups, and whole fruit bowls.

The celebration cakes consisted of a large chocolate cake with a strawberry buttercream filling, featuring an edible image of Gugan Gulwan’s new building, and mini chocolate cupcakes with hazelnut buttercream icing and edible toppers.

To honor Reconciliation Week, our team devoted substantial time to perfecting a traditional native ingredient cookie for our esteemed client Telstra.

This cookie is carefully crafted with native wattle seed and generous chunks of 40 percent dark chocolate, achieving a sublime balance of sweetness. The cookie's flavor profile, featuring notes of coffee and chocolate, yields an enchanting blend of a sweet, earthy mocha cookie, making it utterly irresistible.

Our traditional native ingredients cookie, Uncle Barry's Chocolate Chunk Wattle Seed Cookie, has been named in honor of my Uncle Barry Moore, a renowned bush tucker expert who selflessly shared his knowledge of traditional culture, bush foods and medicines.

McLeod's Angels catering had the privilege of providing catering services for a local community event, which united traditional owners and the broader community in planting trees for a restoration project within the Urambi Hills Nature Reserve. The outdoor menu offered convenient, grab-and-go options, including apple compote with vanilla yogurt and manuka and macadamia granola, seasonal fruit cups, handmade lemonade scones with handmade strawberry jam and Chantilly cream, and banana bread with date and walnut maple butter.

To ensure attendees remained warm, our team provided a tea and coffee station, complete with premium teas and coffee, sugar, hot chocolate, assorted milks, juices (apple/orange), and bottled water/sparkling.

Thank you to the ACT Environment, Planning & Sustainable Development Directorate for inviting us to contribute to this meaningful initiative.

We were privileged to support the elders' tent at the ACT Reconciliation Week event in Commonwealth Park, a significant occasion for Reconciliation Week that was open to the entire community.

To counter the cold weather, our team presented a hot menu to keep our elders warm and well-fed, consisting of an assortment of pies, including plain, steak cheese and bacon, vegetables mornay, and curry beef pie, accompanied by a home-style potato bake with mixed vegetables and home-style gravy. Furthermore, we provided an assortment of sandwiches and a selection of sweet treats, including passion fruit and white chocolate cheesecake, fruit tarts, lamingtons, caramel slices, and apple loaf cake.

To keep our guests warm, we also presented a tea and coffee station, which included premium coffee, premium tea, an assortment of milks, sugar/sweetener, and jugs of premium water and juices.

We extend our gratitude to the ACT Office of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Affairs for inviting us to support this event, which was a true honor.

It was our honor to support Yerrabi Yurwang's Elders Lunch during National Reconciliation Week, showcasing a specially crafted menu featuring roast chicken, roast lamb, roasted potatoes, roasted pumpkin, steamed vegetables, homestyle gravy, garden salad with dressing, and freshly baked bread rolls with butter portions.

A tea and coffee station was available, offering a selection of coffee, premium teas, hot chocolate, sugar, sweetener, assorted milks, and assorted juices. Dessert options included decadent chocolate mud cake with Chantilly cream and berries, and classic homestyle non-alcoholic trifle.

We appreciate the opportunity to participate in this meaningful event, courtesy of the team at Yerrabi Yurwang, in celebration of our elders and community.
