Drum & Bass has always been a passion of mine - - back before it was even called DnB. All the way back to its inception when i was a raver.
I may not have been DJing then but i was always into the music
Last year i tried doing guest mixes for the 2nd hour of my show but alot of the mixes i was getting sent didnt really flow on from my first hour or resonate with the styles of DnB i an trying to promote or the vibe of my show.
Not to say they weren't good mixes - just not the kind of tracks i would play or listen too and i think it affected the flow making it a show of 2 halves sometimes.
That was the main reason i switched it up to include both a PRODUCER in Focus and LABEL in Focus episode on a monthly basis.
These extended episodes are my homage to the greats who have paved the way for everything that followed and i get a real buzz putting these sets together.
Hopefully a nostalgic trip down memory lane for the older heads and a history lesson for some of the younger ravers.
I have been getting some great feedback on these too and have heaps of quality producers and labels to cover in the coming months
