A Gorgeous Winter Microwedding at The Lighthouse Restaurant, Cleveland Point
On a gorgeous clear winter afternoon, The Lighthouse Restaurant at Cleveland Point provided the perfect backdrop for Richard and Kerrie’s beautiful microwedding. With sweeping views across Moreton Bay and a picturesque gazebo setting ideal for intimate celebrations, the venue suited their vision of an elegant, classic ceremony shared with their closest family.
The ceremony was held in the charming gazebo, with the sparkling bay creating a breathtaking backdrop behind the couple. At the front of the gazebo stood a stunning arbour dressed in flowing white draping and rich burgundy florals, adding a romantic touch to the fresh sea air and panoramic water views that make The Lighthouse Restaurant so memorable for weddings.
Every detail of the day reflected timeless style. Groom Richard looked dapper in a smart suit, finished with a crimson tie and a matching rose boutonniere. Bride Kerrie was the picture of elegance in a long-sleeved gown with a delicate lace bodice and a sweeping train that added graceful drama to her entrance. The bridesmaids—Kerrie’s adult daughters—wore burgundy wrap dresses, while Richard’s adult daughters, standing proudly as groomsmaids, wore matching multiway gowns in the same rich shade, creating a beautifully cohesive look.
The ladies wore their hair in soft upstyles with curls, perfectly complementing the romantic feel of the afternoon. Adding even more sweetness to the occasion, the flowergirl—Kerrie’s granddaughter—looked adorable in soft pink, while the ring bearers, the bride’s grandsons, were incredibly cute in their little suits. The bridal party made a stylish arrival in a white stretch limousine.
Although the guest list was small, the emotion in the ceremony was immense. With only their nearest and dearest present, every word and every glance felt deeply personal. There was a beautiful sense of warmth and connection throughout the vows, reminding everyone that some of the most meaningful weddings are the ones centred simply on love, family, and the joy of being together.
After the ceremony, the group headed across the road to Cleveland Point Recreation Reserve for photos by the water. With panoramic bay views, the iconic foreshore, and the lighthouse precinct all close by, the location offered a stunning setting for relaxed family portraits and elegant bridal images. It was the perfect way to capture the beauty of the day against one of the Redlands Coast’s most picturesque backdrops.
While the photographs were underway, the Lighthouse staff quickly transformed the ceremony space to a dinner setting, with tables, chairs, and an outdoor heater.
The sweet details were just as thoughtfully planned. The top tier of the wedding cake was a decadent red velvet, while vanilla cupcakes topped with fresh berries and swirls of frosting provided a delicious and elegant treat for guests.
Richard and Kerrie’s winter microwedding at The Lighthouse Restaurant was a beautiful reminder that weddings do not need to be grand in size to feel extraordinary. With the bay sparkling in the background, a heartfelt ceremony in the gazebo, and treasured moments shared with children and grandchildren, their day was the perfect blend of intimacy, elegance, and timeless romance.
