💍 Wedding Tip Sunday – A Few Tips for the Bride & Groom with the ring exchange! 💍

Happy Sunday everyone! 🎉 It’s time for another Wedding Tip Sunday! Whoo hoo! 💍❤️

Here are a couple of simple little tips that can make your ceremony ring exchange that little bit smoother…

👰‍♀️🤵‍♂️ Be Ready for the Ring!
Just before your ceremony, if you’d like to, remember to move your engagement ring onto your right hand. That way, your wedding band can be placed straight onto your left ring finger during the ceremony.

Once you’re officially married, simply move your engagement ring back onto your left hand and voilà… the perfect wedding ring combo! 💍✨

And now, a little word for the grooms! 🤵‍♂️ You’re probably not used to wearing a ring, so when your gorgeous bride puts that wedding band on your finger… DON’T PANIC! 😂

Take your time. Look at her. Smile. Enjoy it. Maybe even admire that brand-new bit of bling! 💍😜

Seriously though, make it a big moment. This is the first time you’ll ever wear that ring, and it represents the commitment you’re making to each other. So don’t rush it just because there are a few hundred eyes watching you! ❤️

💡 Bonus tip: A little hand cream before the ceremony can help those rings slide on a little more easily, especially on a warm Queensland day when fingers can swell. ☀️

And believe me, the last thing we want is me standing there saying, “Give it another little push!” 😂💍

Slow down, soak it all in and enjoy the moment. These are the little moments you’ll remember forever. ❤️

Wedding season is in full swing, so I’m back at it again today! 💍✨

And how lovely to have a Wednesday wedding in the good old Brissy City! There is just something special about a midweek wedding, and I absolutely love this gorgeous little venue, The Little Laneway

One of the things I love most is that they welcome outside vendors to bring in their own styling… and of course, that would be ME! 😂🌿

I absolutely loved getting creative with the floristry and ceremony space styling today. I was able to use the venue’s gorgeous pillars and place two darling vases on top, filled with flowers in beautiful black-and-white tones to complement the wedding theme. Then came the fun part… using my creative juices to style around the base, bringing everything together in those same gorgeous tones.

I have to say, I loved all the comments I received throughout the day, but the absolute BEST one came from my beautiful bride, Liv. ❤️

We couldn’t manage to have our final styling meeting, so I bravely told her, “Trust me, I have it all planned.”

And thankfully… she LOVED it! 🥰

Joel and Olivia, you have created such a gorgeous future together with your beautiful little boy, Leyton, who, by the way, made the most adorable grand entrance in a little black car. 🚗🖤 Oh my goodness… SO cute!

Liv and Joel, you are truly blessed with wonderful family and friends, and having that beautiful circle of love and support around you makes the future you are creating together even more special.

Thank you for allowing me to be such a big part of your wedding day, not only giving me the honour of marrying you, but also letting me create a gorgeous ceremony backdrop for you to say “I do” beneath.

My heart is so very full after today. ❤️

💍 Wedding Tip Sunday – Don't Overthink the Handover 💍

Happy Sunday everyone! It's time for another wedding tip. Whoo hoo! 🎉

One moment I often see couples overthink is the handover at the end of the aisle.

While the traditional "giving away" of the bride by her father isn't as common these days, many couples still choose to have a dad, mum, step-parent, grandparent, sibling, child or another special person es**rt them down the aisle.

Then they arrive at the front... and suddenly everyone pauses, wondering, "What do we do now?" 😄

The answer is... keep it simple and natural!
💕 The person being es**rted can give their loved one a hug and/or a kiss.
💕 The es**rt can then greet the other partner with a handshake, hug or kiss on the cheek – whichever feels right for your family.
💕 They then take their seat, and we're ready to begin the ceremony.

That's it!

There's no awkward choreography, no secret wedding rulebook, and no need to overthink it. The most beautiful moments are the genuine ones, so simply do what feels natural for you and your loved ones.

As your celebrant, I'll always guide you through the process on the day, so you won't be left wondering where to stand or what comes next. You can simply enjoy the moment and soak it all in. ❤️

Little bit of wedding magic from today.

It’s Saturday, it’s wedding season… so where am I today? 💍✨

Back at a venue I’ve had the pleasure of doing quite a few weddings at, and honestly, it’s easy to see why I keep coming back. Samsonvale Hall is just gorgeous and absolutely perfect for those DIY couples who want to put their own stamp on their wedding day. ❤️

Today I got to flex those styling muscles again and, of course, put those newly acquired floristry skills to work! 🌿💐 I know, I know… I think I’ve always had the skills, but now I have a lovely little piece of paper that officially says I can! 😂

I absolutely LOVED the tones chosen for this wedding. Beautiful, warm, almost autumnal tones, and they worked so beautifully together. I had so much fun creating this gorgeous floral spray for my lovely couple.

And check out my Elegant White Arbour "Stuart", standing proudly on the grounds of Samsonvale Hall. 🤍 I also supplied my homemade natural confetti, made with love and ready for that all-important confetti moment.

And then there was Matilda and Patrick… oh my goodness, what can I say about these two? Ever so loved-up, ever so divine, and the eye contact between them during their ceremony had me taking a few big deep breaths! 😂❤️ Just absolutely perfect.

They’ve been together for more than four years and have a gorgeous little daughter, too. Their story is one of those beautiful reminders that sometimes life connects two people and, very quickly, you just know where your future is heading.

Their second date involved a little car accident… mainly because Patrick was too busy checking out his gorgeous new girlfriend instead of watching the road! 😂

While they waited for roadside assistance, Matilda headed off to grab them some food. Patrick wondered, “Will she come back?”

Well… she did! ❤️

And I think from that moment, their future was pretty much written.

I am just SO in love with what I do. Being able to bring so much joy, love and personality into a wedding ceremony is such a privilege, and being able to style the space and make sure every little detail looks and feels just right? Well, that’s another big tick on my happiness list! ✨

Congratulations, Matilda and Patrick. You really are two peas in a pod, and I have no doubt your future together is going to be unbelievable. 💕🥂

Beautiful little Friday late-afternoon wedding here in Hamilton. 💚✨

And just look at that view! Our gorgeous Brisbane River, the good old “Brown Snake”, was looking pretty fabulous today. But honestly, the views from my couple’s own balcony… WOW! Imagine waking up to this every single day. How lucky are they! 🥰

I had the pleasure of creating a lovely little ceremony set-up for them in gold and green. Simple, elegant and absolutely perfect for the space. Sometimes you really don’t need to overdo it, just a few beautiful touches in the right place can make all the difference.

A gorgeous afternoon, an incredible view and a very special couple. What more could you ask for? 💍✨

💍 Wedding Tip Sunday – Which Side Should You Stand On? 💍
Happy Sunday everyone! It's time for another wedding tip. Whoo hoo! 🎉

One question I get asked quite a bit is, "Which side do we strand on?"

The short answer... there is no right or wrong answer!

Traditionally, the bride stands on the left and the groom on the right, but these days it's completely up to you. If you don't know the tradition (or simply don't care), choose whichever side feels most comfortable.

Here are a few things to think about when deciding:
✨ Your good side: We all have one!
✨ Your ceremony entrance: If the bride is entering from the side rather than the back, it often works well for the groom and groomsmen to stand on the opposite side. This gives the groom a fantastic view as she walks in without having to turn around and leaves plenty of room for the bride and her bridal party to get into position.
✨ Hair accessories: Wearing a beautiful hairpiece or flowers? Stand so they're facing your guests (and your photographer!) so they can be seen in all those gorgeous photos.
✨ Windy day: If you're wearing your hair down, face into the wind where possible. That way your hair is more likely to blow behind you instead of straight into your lipstick...

At the end of the day, your ceremony should work for you. There are very few "musts" in modern weddings, so don't be afraid to make choices that suit your day.
