💍 Shauna & Sebastian – FINALLY, THEIR WEDDING DAY! 🌻❤️

Gosh, Shauna and Sebastian have been on my books for over two years! You see, Seb was living in Colombia when they met, and Shauna was an Aussie traveller. It’s been quite the journey for these two, with Seb’s process of being able to live here in Australia taking what felt like forever! Their wedding date changed a few times along the way, BUT TODAY, WE FINALLY DID IT! They are officially married! 🥂💍

They have both started their new life here in Australia, and today was all
about celebrating their love and looking forward to a wonderful future
together.

We celebrated at Shauna’s family’s private property at Greenbank, where I brought along my trusty “Stuart” arbour, dressed in their chosen colour tones. It looked lovely, and of course, the sunflowers made me happy! 🌻 There is just something about those gorgeous, smiling faces that makes me want to smile right back.

It was so beautiful to see family and friends sharing in this magical
moment. Everyone was absolutely thrilled to finally witness these two say “I do”, and I have no doubt the celebrations will continue well into the night!

And guess what? It’s Shauna’s birthday today, too! 🎂🎈

How special is that? She now gets to celebrate two wonderful occasions on the same date every year, her birthday AND her wedding anniversary!

love ahead.

💍 WEDDING TIP SUNDAY… 💍
👧👦 How to Include Children at Your Wedding
If you’re blending families, already have children of your own, or simply have some very special little people in your lives, there are SO many beautiful ways to include them in your wedding ceremony. ❤️
And they don’t necessarily have to be the traditional flower girl or ring bearer!
Here are a few ideas…
🏖️ A Sand Ceremony
Have each child add a different coloured sand to a shared vessel, symbolising the coming together of your family and the creation of something beautiful together.
🧩 Build a Family Puzzle
You can have a personalised jigsaw puzzle made with each family member’s face on a piece. During the ceremony, everyone adds their piece to complete the puzzle, a gorgeous visual representation of your new family coming together.
💍 Give Them a Special Piece of Jewellery
A bracelet, necklace or other piece of jewellery can be presented to each child as a special symbol of your love and their place within your family.
🚶‍♀️ Walk Down the Aisle Together
Children can es**rt a parent, walk alongside both of you, or you can all make a wonderful joint family entrance together.
🌸 Give Them a Special Ceremony Role
They could be a ring bearer with a pillow, box or even a little wagon, a flower child tossing petals, blowing bubbles, or carrying a special sign.
📖 Let Them Do a Reading or Poem
For older or confident children, a short poem, reading or even a few words about what family means to them can be incredibly special, and often brings a few happy tears!
💗 Give Them a Moment in the Ceremony
Sometimes the most meaningful option is simply to acknowledge them and tell them, in front of everyone you love, how important they are to you.
There really is no right or wrong way to include children in your wedding. The important thing is finding something that feels natural, meaningful and special to your family.
And remember… children will be children! 😂 So whatever role you give them, keep it relaxed and don’t put too much pressure on them to perform perfectly.
After all, the little unexpected moments are often the ones you remember forever. ❤️

Hello Toowoomba! 👋🌸 And HAPPY WEDDING DAY to Ellie and Blake! 💍❤️

A few bushfires around today set the scene with a little bit of smoke haze. Very romantic, actually.

Gosh, these two have had me booked for what feels like forever, so it was pretty exciting to finally arrive at their big day!

I was also doing the ceremony styling today, and it was super easy because the private property they chose already had this gorgeous existing structure that was absolutely ripe for styling.

I did a wee bit of pruning myself first, because apparently I’m a Celebrant, Stylist AND part-time gardener! 😂✂️: before placing my specially made floral spray across the beam.

And I just LOVE this colour combination. A little bit of white, apricot, pastel pink and plenty of greenery… you really can’t go wrong. 🌸🌿

Of course, I always add those extra little touches around the base as well, because it’s those finishing details that help set the scene and make everything feel just that little bit more special. ✨

Now, Ellie and Blake have a rather unique way of making the big decisions easy. It all comes down to Scissors, Paper, Rock, best of three! 😂 Whoever lost had to go first with their vows.

I absolutely loved this, especially because they both got right into it and were so enthusiastic about the game. There was definitely some serious competition going on!

And, just so you know… Ellie lost. 😂

I also make personalised vow cards for my couples to keep, and Ellie asked me if I could add a little powder to hers. Easy. Done. ✔️

So, when Ellie opened her vow card, she very theatrically blew the “dust” away before reading her vows, representing all the time that had passed and the journey it had taken to finally reach this moment. What a clever and wonderfully quirky idea! I loved it. ❤️

And because I had made the trip to Toowoomba, I decided to make a bit of a day of it and spent the morning wandering around gorgeous Queens Park, with this being the final weekend of the Carnival of Flowers. 🌺🌸

Now, as a Florist, you KNOW I was in my happy place! The flowers were absolutely beautiful and the aromas were divine. There is something about being surrounded by masses of gorgeous blooms that just fills me with joy. 🌷🌿

Then it was back down the range, onto the highway and eventually home. Here ends my run of three big weddings. Phew, I am a bit worn out, and my car is certainly ready for a little rest.

Another beautiful wedding day in the books, another gorgeous couple officially married, and another little piece of their love story I was lucky enough to be part of. ❤️

Congratulations Ellie and Blake! May your married life be every bit as fun, adventurous and wonderfully unique as your wedding day. 🥂

💍 WEDDING TIP SUNDAY… 💍
This time I would love to talk about an "Acknowledgement of Country".

It’s a lovely thing to consider including in your wedding ceremony, an Acknowledgement of Country.

I’m always happy to include this for you, either before the ceremony officially begins or as part of the ceremony itself.

And if you have someone attending your wedding who is able to offer a Welcome to Country, I would encourage you to ask them. A Welcome to Country is traditionally performed by a Traditional Custodian or Aboriginal Elder and is different from an Acknowledgement of Country.

I also always take the time to research the Traditional Country and the traditional name of the land where your ceremony is taking place, so that we can respectfully recognise the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we are gathering.

It’s a small but meaningful way to begin your wedding day with respect and acknowledgement. ❤️

Oh, it’s a lovely Saturday in October and I suddenly noticed the jacarandas are out! 💜🌸

Bless… I do love this time of year. Blue skies above and purple trees everywhere you look. It really is one of the prettiest times of the year.

And it was a BIG drive today for little old me, with a wedding all the way out at Somerset Dam. I had a couple of catch-ups first, and as I was running ahead of time, I decided to tackle the fabulous Mt Glorious range as my scenic route to Somerset.

Oh my goodness… stunning! 🌿🌳 Winding my way around those mountain roads, surrounded by beautiful rainforest and breathtaking landscapes. Everything was so green and lush up there.

Then you come down the mountain and reality hits… 😳 We really, really need some rain. Heading out towards the dam, the landscape was looking so dry and parched. Let’s hope the wonderful goddess Mother Nature decides to bless us with some much-needed rain very soon. 🙏🌧️

And then I arrived at the absolutely fabulous Somerset Sunset Wedding Venue, what a location! A DIY venue with accommodation, rustic vibes and FARM ANIMALS! 🐴🦙🐔🐑

There were donkeys, llamas, chooks and lambs wandering around near the ceremony site, and of course, I simply HAD to go and say hello to the donkeys. 🥰 I do love donkeys! 😂

Today was all about celebrating the lovely Monique and Brodie, who became Mr & Mrs. 💍❤️

And what a wedding party they had! I think they may just have been one of the most attentive wedding parties I’ve ever seen. Especially the boys, they had Brodie’s back BIG TIME!

There was so much love, laughter and support surrounding these two, and it was just a magical moment in time.

I feel incredibly lucky to be able to be there on days like this, not only to conduct the ceremony, but to make sure everything runs smoothly and to be there to support my couples when those wedding-day nerves start to take over.

And Brodie definitely had a few nerves! ❤️

Then there was Monique…

Oh, that DRESS! ✨

It had the most beautiful shimmer and shine, and as Monique walked down the aisle, she genuinely looked like a fairy princess floating towards her prince. 🧚‍♀️✨

Absolutely perfect.

There was also a very special tribute to Monique’s Dad, who has sadly passed away. His Harley Davidson was there as part of the day, making sure he was included in a very special way. 🏍️❤️

And in a funny little coincidence, it was a Wide Glide, just like my husband’s Harley! So, much to everyone’s surprise, I was able to correctly identify the actual model. 😂 Of course, I had to get a photo with it!

What a beautiful day, what a beautiful setting and what a beautiful couple.

It’s Friday, it’s a long weekend here in Queensland, and if you’re in the wedding world, you’ll know this is usually one of the most popular weekends of the year to say “I do!” 💍❤️

Well, it certainly is for me!

Wedding number ONE of THREE for this long weekend is done and dusted, and what a beautiful way to kick things off with the lovely Chelsea and Alexander. 🥰

Ohhh, young love… isn’t it grand? ❤️

These two first met at their very first university lecture. 8am on a Monday morning! 😴😂

Apparently, a little eye contact happened… and then they pretty much just kept looking at each other until the sparks started flying. ✨

And look at them now!

Together they have created a beautiful life, made some big decisions along the way and even moved interstate to follow Alex’s career. That’s a pretty big move, but one they made together, with love, trust and a shared vision for their future.

And today, surrounded by their family and friends, they stood together and made that future official. ❤️

We were at the gorgeous Riverlife Weddings, with the reception to follow, right on the Brisbane River with our beautiful city providing the most fabulous backdrop. 🌆✨

Now, there’s a funny little twist to this story…

Alex actually works with my hubby, Stuart!

So, it was Chelsea’s job to find a Celebrant. She did her research, stumbled across me and we had a chat.

Chelsea then went back to Alex and said…

“I’ve found the most amazing Celebrant!” 🥰

When she told him my name, Alex apparently replied…

“Oh my goodness… that’s Stuart’s wife!” 😂

Well, there you go! The universe was obviously doing a little behind-the-scenes matchmaking of its own and making sure our paths crossed. ❤️

And can we talk about the ceremony styling? Chelsea did it ALL herself! 👏🏼

Yep, every bit of it, and she even made the gorgeous welcome sign. How amazing is she? I absolutely loved seeing all her hard work come together today.

Chelsea and Alex, it was such a pleasure to be part of your day and to help you officially begin this next chapter together.

Wishing you both the most wonderful future filled with love, laughter, adventures, plenty of eye contact 😉 and all the happiness in the world.

You really do seem to be perfectly matched in every way. ❤️

Gosh, I LOVE weddings at Sirromet Winery! 🍾💍

What is better than a gorgeous spring day, blue skies above, beautiful surroundings and LOVE absolutely everywhere? I ask you! 💕☀️

Today I had the absolute honour of marrying the lovely Edward and Kira.

Now, I get my bookings in all sorts of ways, word of mouth, advertising, expos, couples who have seen me in action at another wedding… and now I can officially add my hairdresser to the list! 😂

Yes, that's right! My lovely Michelle. And yes she was a guest, and I got a photo of us.

So you see, both Edward and Kira are hairdressers and work at the salon I go to. In fact, I think half the guests today were hairdressers, including Edward's Mum, who actually owns the salon. So, let's just say I had better make sure I was having a good hair day today! 😂💇‍♀️

And oh, what a sweet wedding it was. We were down by the lake at The Laguna, with the gorgeous Sirromet Wines surroundings providing the most beautiful backdrop for their ceremony.

And then Kira arrived… As she walked in, the sun caught her dress and surrounded her in the most incredible light. It honestly looked like her dress was sparkling and shimmering all on its own. Just heart-stopping. ✨❤️

We had Mr Entertainment Weddings & Events himself, Matty Ross, on vocals for the music, LOVE him and we adore working together! 🎶❤️ Done plenty of weddings with Matt and absolutely recommend him.

We had a ch*****ne tower overflowing with bubbles 🥂, happy guests absolutely shining with love for their couple, and everyone ready to kick on and celebrate properly afterwards.

And then there was a little bonus for the whole salon crew… The hair salon is closed tomorrow! 😂 So, I have a feeling there was going to be one BIG party tonight, followed by a very well-deserved sleep-in tomorrow!

And now for the funny story… Edward has an identical twin, Harrison, who was his best man and witness. And when I say identical, I mean FRIGGIN' IDENTICAL! 😂 Before the ceremony even started, I accidentally called Harrison Edward. He politely told me he wasn't actually my groom. Cue me looking at him, looking around, and my little brain finally kicking in… OH YES… THERE ARE TWO OF THEM! 🤦‍♀️😂

Edward and Kira, thank you for choosing me to be the one to stand beside you and make it official. It was such a joy to be part of your beautiful day and celebrate this next chapter with you.
