600+ Weddings & counting… DJ Ben Events is solely operated by South Australia's DJ Ben. Ben has a very long and successful career as an entertainer since the age of 16. He was originally on a path of studying to be a primary school teacher but quickly started losing interest once he began getting
late night gigs in pubs and clubs around Adelaide. By 1997 he was holding 1-2 DJ residencies in venues and this increased to 3-4 weekly nights by the following year and continued until 2008. Highlights of these years for him was DJing at the Highlander with Cosi and Sam Mac, being the resident DJ at The Norwood Hotel for 6.5years on saturday nights and being at part-time promoter at Heaven Nightclub's legendary weekly rave night Chemistry. In March 1998 he joined DJ RMAC on a graveyard shift (Tuesdays 12am - 6am) on the dance music radio station Fresh FM and by 2001 had earned himself a specialist show of Monday evenings at 10pm. This radio show called Mentazm he co-hosted for a total of 8 years...all for the love of the music as Fresh FM in it's earlier days was all run by volunteers.

In 2008 everything for him changed when he moved to the beautiful wine region, The Barossa Valley with his then fiance with plans to start a family. He was unable to commit to the 3-4 nights of weekly pub and clubs or the radio show but he felt he wasn't ready to retire the DJing. It was a natural move to end up offering his entertainment services as a DJ at weddings...but little did he know what a fantastic career move this would be. He quickly got booked for weddings and within 2 years had seen too many "drunken uncle" attempting to be the MC at weddings. Ben started offering MC services as an add-on to his DJ services, drawing on his experiences working with many great party MCs over his years in clubs. By 2013 he had surprised himself by how much he enjoyed this live element of entertainment as he had also started incorporating crowd-interaction games at weddings to great response! It was then that he decided to only book himself at weddings that specifically wanted a great DJ but with a MC as well and he has been running this format at weddings since. Since early 2018 he has hosted a fun-filled Quiz night at The Greenock in the Barossa on Wednesday nights & on Tuesday nights at the Barossa Ale Haus he hosts the Survey Says Trivia night which is based on Family Feud. Ben was awarded SA's No. 1 Wedding MC in 2015 / 2016 / 2017 / 2018 / 2020 and also 2021. In 2019 he proudly accepted the prestigious award on the Gold Coast for Australia's No. 1 Wedding MC.
